I think the payment to creditors was 10p in the £1 and as you say it was administration rather than a liquidation. I do remember local businesses involved in the construction of the stand being disgruntled in the Trib. In the days when Nuneaton News was actually reported by the local media outlet.

There has been a lot of Cov overspill into Nuneaton with all the house building in recent times and the relatively cheaper prices. In my dad’s day there were no Cov supporters in Nuneaton. It was a Villa town then and if you see pictures of the local amateur teams they wore Villa kits. Similar pics in the Bedworth clubhouse of the early Bedworth teams in Villa kits. Although Bedworth has always been more aligned with Cov than Nuneaton. When I was growing up the only Cov supporters were those who had moved into Nuneaton from Cov.

As for Boro gates I think they have gone up when there is ambition and hope. Rushden, Kingstonian and play off matches come to mind. Times have been tough since we were at Manor Park.

I am impressed with the gates at the present time. There does seem a will for a decent standard football to return to Nuneaton. 340 for a pre season friendly much more than we would have got in the JG era. If we can average 5 or 600 we have a chance!
