think there are many who would like JG to leave (certainly as manager).
There are certainly some who want him to stay irrespective.

Some Facebook posts are embarrassing - no balance - he has to stay as he is JG. Team failings are not his fault as he saved the club and works hard
Blaming keyboard warriors whilst blaming players for bad team performances whilst not (to my knowledge) actually being there (or any/many games)

My view..........
I think he is probably too "old school" for me.
I wonder if (and dont take this too literally) Boro are too big or right for him. Sometimes managers just "fit" with clubs for a host of reason (Daish at Ebbsfleet vs Nuneaton; Wilkin at Nuneaton vs Wrexham).

I am NEVER keen on sacking a manager. I may not like what I see, but I 100% accept there are many other factors to take into consideration.
I also look at entertainment (rather than just results - why I was not a great fan of Wilkin (but praised season at this level)).
I actually liked the way Wright set up teams, but not Dino.
I (initially at least) loved Wilson approach.
I have to say I hate what I have witnessed this season.

So....... Do I want him sacked (if that even possible) - No, but has he under-perfomed / not met finances expectations? - This normally the measure.
Do I want a new manager - Yes.
So - there you have it. My arse is hurting sitting on this fence.
