I first met Pleaty when Ade lived next door to me. Kirk and Ade were at one time the full back pairing when Boro' had a really good Youth team. Both were with the Coventry City Youth set up. originally, I believe. Ade certainly was. They also had some connection with Coventry Sporting at one time. I seem to remember that David Kite had something to do with them going to Boro'. Could be wrong there.

Ade was recruited and signed by Peterborough and things were going well for him there until Jim Iley took over. Kirk of course went on to greater things

I played in a few games against Ade. He was a fearsome tackler. The last time I managed a full 45 minutes, Kirk, Benno, Brendan Phillips Dean Emerson and Les Cartwright played for the opposition. We had Danny Thomas and Kevin Kane playing for us. It was murder.
