Replays will be mandatory in all rounds of the Qualifying Competition from the Extra Preliminary Round up to and including the Fourth Round Qualifying.

Step 4 Clubs of The FA National League System (“NLS”) – Exemptions
Similar to previous seasons, in order to maintain the number of participating Clubs at a similar level and to ensure the Competition can retain its current format, it is necessary for a number of Clubs at Step 4 of the NLS to enter the Competition in the Extra Preliminary Round instead of the Preliminary Round. For the 2025-26 Competition there shall be 127 Clubs at Step 4 (plus those from Step 5) that will enter the Competition in the Extra Preliminary Round instead of receiving exemption to the Preliminary Round, which is the round where the remaining Step 4 Clubs shall enter. These Clubs will be the 32 newly promoted Clubs from Step 5 and the 95 lowest ranked Step 4 Clubs not relegated from the 2024-25 season. The 95 lowest ranked Step 4 Clubs shall comprise of 12 Clubs from seven of the eight Step 4 Leagues, and 11 Clubs from the other one remaining Step 4 League, from season 2024-25.

Rules of the Competition
The Rules of the Competition will be published in week commencing 14 July. Competition Rules shall also be available on www.TheFA.com

Dates for Draws
The draws for the Extra Preliminary and Preliminary Round shall be released on Friday 4 July 2025. Please note, only Clubs competing in those rounds shall be emailed these draws. The draws shall also be available on www.TheFA.com
