From memory ( but dont quote me ) the club was going bust and he offered after due diligence to take it on, he then proceded to go bankrupt and start again building the seated stand with his soon due to fail business.

Allegedly never took a penny in wages out of the club for himself but I was told his wife had a tidy income out of it .... true or not ?
