Including the sending off at 4:00.
Look at reaction of Bostons No-8 in the centre of screen. The boston supporters didnt seem to angry with the decision either.

Cant make up my mind if malicious, but he was very late.
On balance, I would say it deserved at red.

Incident at 1:40 also, err, interesting :)

Have a look at club below - 2:05 - Now thats what I call lazy defending.

Amazing really - 4 games played 3 goals conceded and we comment on the defending :)

Thing is, most goals can be avoided, so cant be too critical, particularly at this level.
Saturdays goal the defender should not have let the attacker get in front of him and the keeper should have claimed the ball.

The season is panning out pretty much as anticipated so far - a very tough start, needing patience and support from Boro fans (who, in fairness, are - mostly - hanging in there). I think there’s a little more to come from the current squad (who, as far as I know, can’t be faulted for their work-rate), but without doubt things are presently lacking going forward. Worrying times, but we're used to those.

On the plus side, after missing Chorley, we’re already looking forward to Saturday - footie followed by pizza!

Come on Boro!!

Work rate last night couldn't be faulted. The lads dug in, kept going, ran their socks off, BUT they had to as they were chasing shadows for long periods due to putting 7 men behind the ball and gifting possession back to Boston at any opportunity.

The set up, whilst understandable given our limitations, was disappointing and negative. We set up for a 0-0, and once we conceded, looked devoid of all ideas.

Only when it went to 2-0, and we put Burns/Carter up front, with Andoh on the pitch too, and Tweed in midfield running with the ball, did we look any kind of threat in the opponents half.

Andoh and Tweed MUST start on Saturday, and hopefully Angus will be fit to return.

We are not being hammered by anyone, especially the top three.
Doesn’t seem that much wrong with the keepers and defence.
The whole of last seasons midfield and strike force have gone, just too many boots to fill at one time.

Who is pulling the purse strings on the playing side ? Thorne owns the club, perhaps he’s using some of the 400 k he got from Smurth.
Once again no feedback from the manager or club owner.
If we ain’t able to get some quality in, can’t see us staying up.

The good parts of the second bit were very much Tweed and Andoh.

Those two should 100 per cent start over Richards/Calverley and Jones.

If Angus is fit, him over Harry P too.

If Wesolowski is fit, and he also came off the bench, I'd be inclined to start him over the other of Richards/Calverley too. He had some real quality when he came on IMO. Midfield was better with him and Tweed in there- seemed less of a gap between midfield and attack.

Obeng.....................................................Freestone

He was the one driving forward, with and without the ball, trying to get the forwards involved.

imo at the moment the management know their side isn't good enough to attack the opposition , so the tactic is to defend in depth and just hope we get away with it . Unfortunately we won't . I'm sure they will be aware of our deficiency and will be working on them , but this takes time and money . Have we got enough of both ?

Thats how I see it also.

I hate defensive/cautious football BUT to succeed with that tactic you have to have players good enough.
If your players are good enough, then why try and defend at all costs !!!
Even if players are good enough, its a dangerous tactic.
there is only one manager (and no; he does not manage a club in this league) who has the ability and players to go out and get not concede a goal (most of the time).

Basically, I can fully understand the tactics that are being applied. I don't like it, but even I would rather a one goal defeat (or even a 0-0) than a 5+ goal defeat :(
I also don't deny, the results so far have been better than i feared.

Cant blame the manager too much,he has had no time to get things together.team thrown together in haste just to get us started.
This ain’t the time for the doom mongers to gloat, perhaps with a couple more signings it might just improve.

Wonder what is going through Smurfs head ? His twelve month tenure could come under threat sooner rather than later.
