LATEST ADDITION TO PROJECT WEBSITE -

Our lead researcher, John Hobson, has spent many hours compiling a comprehensive record of Boro results and appearances since formation in 1889 to date.

His hours of painstaking work have resulted in the publication on our website of a ‘Statistics Log 1889-2018’.

This can be viewed, downloaded or printed via the ‘Eras’ section of our project website at - www.fromtowntotown.org.uk

A preview of the layout can be seen in the photo’s on our Facebook page along with a festive view of Manor Park that was shared recently on the superb Nuneaton Memories Facebook site.

Thank you very much John for this early Boro Xmas present!

Finally, we would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Class.

What strikes me, from the last few seasons there has been a huge turnover of players and very few passing 50 appearances for the club. Look at the list of high apearances.

Acton, Angus, Dean, Armson, Walker, Barry Williams, Tony Simpson, Dave Crowley etc all played a lot of games for the club. Hopefully we can start to get that back under the new regime, local lads playing tons of games for the club.

Always felt it was tragic that this didn't exist; particularly since the change to Town in 2008.

Just one moan; why the hell has it taken John Hobson so long :) :) :)

Agree , how on earth did he find out the information on the early years .
Did notice it's got us down as beating Chippenham 2-0 in the play off final .

Of course every team needs one - so easy to find.

Some knocked Chambers (misses too many), but 31 in 58 (53% ain't shabby).

Moult 19/55 (35%)
Murphy 83/170 (49%)

For comparison.......

Rush (Career) 256/602 (43%)
Owen (Career) 164/362 (45%)
Aguero (City) 151/259 (58%)

Funny how people judge players . Barry Franklin was regarded as a flop / disappointment for us yet had a nearly one in two record .

Spotted my first game in Aug 1971 on page 157, we lost at home.

Absolutely brilliant piece of reserach. My first game took some tracking down cos it was so obscure: Sat 7th Nov 1964. 2-1 home win v Lower Gornal in the BSC. All I remember (correctly?) is that Gornal’s kit was amber shirts and chocolate shorts.

Good job it was November, if it had been warmer, those chocolate shorts may have melted.
