I believe only Benbow.

I suspect very few contracted for 2019/20 (non) season.

Only other maybe Bredon.

I thought Benbow was. Would have made sense given a fee was paid.

Guessing the 6 would have been Breedon, DKE, Addleson, Belford, Obeng and Benbow.

How many of those will stay . Addison , Obeng & Belford will be gone . Benbow has looked like he didn't really want to be here from about ten games in . DKE & Breddon both seemed happy enough .

Agree don’t think Benbow will be around whenever next season starts and wouldn’t be surprised if DKE gets offers from bigger clubs

It will be very hard to ever get a solid and rising fan base at LW while we have a different squad starting every season because an affinity with the players has always been important to the Boro supporters

Probably true, but when the previous season's squad have been under-achievers it should no surprise when changes to it are made.

It’s the level we are now at sadly

Non contract players

7 days notice

Constant chopping and changing at all clubs, not just ours.

Adding some positivity to all your days but shit standard of football, 90 per cent shit away grounds, shit crowds, players not prepared to stick around for their chance if they aren’t selected.

Think there are going to be a lot of players looking for a club when football starts again, see Colchester United announced four of their better players would be released once their contracts end in a month or so, Colchester Chairman said under normal circumstances he would have been looking to retain all four players but because of the economic circumstances with Coronavirus he couldn’t keep them. There are probably going to be a lot of clubs and players in the same situation before long.

I fear that football at our level may change forever and beyond recognition.
How many part-time clubs will go by the wayside remains to be seen,as may many in the EFL.
I also wouldn't be surprised if the PL did not seize this opportunity to go for the formation of PL2. Two divisions of 18 would provide the perfect platform for the proposed enlarged CL.

Certainly going to change quite a bit, can see clubs in Divs 1-2 running with even smaller squads and supplementing their squads with youth team players, think also players looking for new clubs or new deals are also going to have to adjust their expectations on wages now as well.

The latter part of that is a good thing

At least now you shouldn’t see clingers on getting £600 per week to play level 7 football, training once or twice a week and playing once a week, and not needing to go to ‘work’

It’s the clubs that have to change and have the power to change.

Agreed.

I was one of a few who defended Addison.

If you can do it, you would. But hopefully they can’t anymore.

Whilst its obscene what some players earn, if people are prepared to pay it, then they are "worth it".

I do think footballers have been unfairly targeted. From what I hear of most they are very socially aware.

Did bankers and failed business owners take pay cuts during the recession or failures?
Have rich musicians or actors been targetted?
Have those who have wealth for no other reason than birth been targetted?

There was a calculation somewhere. If you take what a top footballer earns and compare it to (say) Tom Hanks they earn far less per person watching them perform their art.

Agree . It's not footballers responsibility to fund the country through this , it's not there fault clubs are willing to pay them sky high wages and it's not there fault massively wealthy clubs have furloughed their lowest earners .
There will always be one or two idiots as in any walk of life but most are decent young men .

Still as long as the PL can pay players £300,000 a week all will be ok with the world.

Reduced to £280,000 pw following their goodwill -10% salary gesture. How will they cope? But seriously, I hope that this crisis will bring football (and other pro sports) to its senses. The entire system has been operating a flawed economic model for decades.

The biggest clubs will ride this out but the gap between the big boys and clubs like Norwich , Brighton & Burnley and even the likes of West Ham & Villa will widen even further . The biggest clubs in Europe would already like a continental league as would UEFA . Probably the only reason it hasn't happened is the reluctance of the PL clubs . If the gap becomes too big i can see this becoming more likely .

It appears one of the motivations for wanting to finish the season is because tv companies ( particularly foreign ones) would ask for their money back for games that would not be broadcast if season doesn’t finish, as you this will hit particularly the smaller PL clubs
