I can't see any chance for next season.
Until there is a cure or vaccine then our lives will not return to normal.

Suppose game do start by the end of the year. How many would actually want to go? Maybe easier with lower crowds.

Also - writing off 2020/21 will give clubs certainty. At least at this level very few players will be contracted for next season.

The leaked government plans for gradually ending the restrictions suggest that mass sporting events/gatherings could resume on August 10th (phase 5)

Edit: sorry, just read that those plans are from the Irish government, not UK.

I would think he is probably right. I think August 2021 will be a realistic restart if a vaccine can be found. If not that could be doubtful. It is not just non league football it all sport.

There's certainly talk that the whole of next season could be a write off . Hard to see how clubs are going to cope .

At this level.

No income, but probably very few fixed costs (rates, rent, load repayments) plus things like maintenance.

in some ways it must be easier to moth-ball at this level than higher up the pyramid.

Why do you say that?
Club still paying rent?

Perhaps things be better if both owned by same people.

most clubs run week to week on a deficit
as far as were concerned now there will be no overheads as such, no staff to pay no floodlighting bill etc etc
yep maintenance will always be ongoing as will the rent /rates etc
even the manager paid himself...... right ?
but are they calamitous ???
at the end of the day most clubs are crippled by staff commitments
i wonder what the outlay is to keep this club mothballed ?
if say 500 quid a week could be raised ie 2k a month.
surely that would suffice till august ( circa 6k ) then re -assess
i admit openly the above is pure guesswork on my part
but in truth how much does it cost to mothball ?
ok its anyone's guess but its where the answer lies

No idea who now owns the ground but Jimmy always seems relaxed about it so my guess if we did have to miss a payment or two we will ( hopefully ) get more leeway than we would of smurf .

Over half non league clubs won't survive without government help. Non league football a long way down government list although more people watch it than League football.

“ Non league football a long way down government list“

And rightly so.

Yeah, I wanna watch football, and in particularly Boro’ again, but in the grand scheme of things it shouldn’t be important.

If 100 clubs go tits up, it’s sadly life and the impact of this virus. Many others businesses are falling by the wayside on a daily basis.
