James Clifton signs

For Steve Chettle at Basford United.

This is, and may seem far fetched, somewhere else I could see Whitehouse going.

They pay good cash, and it’s people he knows, not too far from home.

Hell of a drop down, but one of those moves where ‘potential’ etc will be mentioned when ‘going for cash’, if it happened.

On the face of it doesn't sound realistic , but . Some clubs will ride out this crisis better than others and players will want to earn as much as possible . When we eventually come out of this it's definitely a possibility that we will see some players playing for clubs at levels that seem unlikely currently .

On the radio the other night they were claiming a lot of full time clubs at the lower end are looking to slash their playing staff as soon as contracts allow . They claimed many will only keep half or dozen or so on there books , the ones whose contracts prevent them being released currently .

Think that’s right, Whitehouse was released because Grimsby could not afford to keep all the players they would have in normal circumstances, many other clubs will be the same
