Nice football for the goal (but where was the defence)

Why no No 9 for Boro!!

Thought sending off was clear at the time but not so sure now - coming together of two players. Suspect referee thought same but linesman had different view.

have to say superb camera work and picture quality
a big well done to all on this one considering the level we're at
it appears to be yet another aspect that JG has had installed going on those highlights.
the late disallowed goal maybe im wrong but was it offside ? look at the defender
i know its when the ball is kicked mmmmm.

I didn't see it as offside at the time but you can never tell from a different angle , if anything the defender is fouling Lita - holding him down.

joking aside i thought the boro lad was lucky to stop on the pitch after a reckless tackle
as he had already been booked i believe.
you could point to that as a wrong decision for starters :-)

Jaanai Gordon (who I believe played pre-season) was playing for Tamworth today.

Enoch Andoh played for Stratford (no sign of Henshall; guess injured).

Bainbridge on bench for Stratford (thought he went to Griff). Thought they had signed Redditch keeper from last season. Belford was in goal.

No sign of Callum Powell or Sharpe.

Agree, huffed and puffed didn’t create anything until they went down to ten men, same problem as last season started with one upfront, Shamsi, and it made it easy for their defenders to mark him, Kelly easily our best player, DKE needs to play further forward, would bring Goddard into midfield push DKE forward into the 10 role instead of Dunbar certainly until Baker is fit again

Pretty much agree.
Until the sending off it looked carbon copy from last season...... ball into area from any set plays and trying to hit Shamsi early.

Kelly was head and shoulders; too similar to have him and Baker in the same team.

Brown looked like a "proper" target man. I would like to see him and Shamsi in a 442, but not sure who could provide the width.

Thought the referee handled the game well - He tried to play advantage. I don't think he was in best position for the sending off (he didnt seem to react at all), but rightly listened to his assistant.

Looking at the results reminded me there are a hell of a lot of teams in this league who could be challenging for the playoffs.

Thought that the substitution at half time made a big difference and we played some good stuff when Andre Brown was on the pitch. Didn't work out with Shamsi and the new lad from Leamington up top.

Also Willy missed a good chance first half, we had one disallowed for offside (Lita I think), and a couple of others which were blocked in the box.

The stud marks on the top of Marcus Kelly's leg looked really painful. Was a wild challenge for the ball, intentional or not.

Thought that Cotton was lucky to stay on the pitch first half but did well second half.

Fantastic cross from Edmunds for our goal and a well placed header from Brown.

Can't remember Breedon having to save much, and nearly got to the pen.

P.S - Very nice to be watching a proper game in person, with people there. Really hope that it can continue.

take it as a point earned.
would we have got anything against eleven ? who knows
thought Gudger if he was no-3 looked capable
as did the big lad who came on no-15. i think. held the ball up well
some done better than others it has to be said
one or two looked ordinary but again very very early doors
lets see where we are after half a dozen games or so.
nothing is ever lost or won on the season opener.

off topic ; just been rolling on the floor with laughter
southampton v spurs BT sport
these fcn so called experts... i love em T###s
jermaine jenus ( spelling ) has just spent five minutes RIPPING spurs players and manager to bits
apart from actually calling them outright a load of shit on the box
then suddenly spurs put a great move together. Son a great finish
then he spends two minutes telling us all what a great move / goal it was.
football is all about confidence and LUCK.
is it me or is society obsessed with playing the blame game whatever the subject
why cant some just realize for every team on top the opposition have to try and play catch up

Do you know the connection between Jermaine Jenus and the Boro?

According to pundits - Last season
At start, Solskjaer didn't have a clue
At end, Solskjaer was the saviour.

Lost to Palace.... I await the former to return.

So many pundits annoy me. Seems the bigger reputation in the game the more obvious they have to report on. I have to turn off when messers Hoddle, Owen, Townsend start talking.

And it's so easy for the "okay" ones to find fault when it goes wrong then praises it when it goes right.

Like him or not I thought Mourinho was a very good analyser.

Those I do like all seem to be on radio; Pat Nevin, Robert Green and the late Graham Taylor...... the latter spoke as a fan, but with the insight of someone who knew the game.
