Restart - Tamworth Say NO

Not surprising as they (like Boro') would not be permitted spectators.

Thomas Baillie has confirmed Tamworth voted to delay the restart of the current Southern League season if fans aren’t present at every ground.

Clubs voted on Tuesday evening following a Zoom call with league officials.

A total of 16 Southern League teams are currently in Tier 3 following a second national lockdown, with a review expected on December 16.

The Lambs’ Head of Senior Football Thomas Baillie has revealed the club voted to delay the restart unless fans were present or a sufficient financial package was agreed to play behind closed doors.

He said: “Tamworth voted for a suspension of the league until either fans are allowed or government support is given in form of a grant rather than a loan that requires to be paid back.

“Everything is based on the government’s tier system with the review on December 16.

“Games could commence on December 19 but as this is only three days notice, I expect it to be after this date.”

An official announcement of the vote outcome is expected later today (Thursday).

Following consultation with Member Clubs and discussions between the Steps 3 & 4 leagues, the following statement is made.

The Clubs in membership of the Northern Premier, Southern and Isthmian Leagues (the Trident Leagues) met earlier this week to consider the challenges and issues brought about by the reintroduction of Tiers after the raising of the nationwide lockdown with effect from yesterday.

The clubs were asked to vote on a proposition that the pause in fixtures be continued with a regular review in light of changes to the Tiers and/or grants becoming available. The first review to be no later than 16th December. The total votes cast by the 224 Clubs show a substantial number of Clubs in agreement with the proposition. The matter has been considered today and is subject to comment by The FA.

A further statement will be issued in due course.

So do I, but will those clubs who can have spectators think about those who can't? Thats my concern

but..... it's gone to a vote. to me it sounds like the league have shirked responsibility to make a decision.

When are these tiers to be reviewed?

I would say the vote is more to see if clubs like Boro who can’t have fans would still be willing to play, as Tamworth have said I can’t see that they would be, surprised there has been no news of the vote yet as league had stated they would say what the vote was today

It's not 100% clear but from what i'm reading on other sites enough clubs have voted for a pause for that to be the result .

Think it unlikely there would be much change in tiers at the next review on Dec 16 so probably unlikely now there will be any football at our level until the New Year at least

Unlikely that all the clubs currently in Tier 3 will come out of it on Dec 16 so no football until the New Year

It's even possible that areas currently in tier 2 will go into tier 3 . The rate is flying up in the London area .
