The 2019/20 FA Trophy (and vase) finals have still to be played.
Harrogate Town vs Concord Rangers.
The Harrogate chairman is trying to get spectators admitted. I would think "no hope".
Its possible (but unlikely) that a league 1 team may be in the FA Trophy final.
Consett vs Hebburn is the Vase final.
A couple of weeks back they played two seasons Football league Trophy ( or whatever it's called now ) on successive days . Salford held the Trophy for 24 hours . They will probably need to do something similar with these .
Last years final 2nd May, this years final 23rd May.
This years semis tomorrow, one legged rather than two
Notts County v Hornchurch
Hereford v Woking
Not sure where they will stand reference crowds come the finals but i've got to admit i'm glad this or last season were not our season . Got to feel for sides like Concord or Hornchurch , this might be there one time ever .
It was quite a nice experience to go to Wembley and see "big club" Hereford be thrashed by Morpeth in the VASE final...... Morpeth had a 45 year old playing.
The other game was quite forgettable (Halifax beat Grimsby) as the latter had just won the playoffs for the FL at Wembley and it was clear the game was insignificant.
I really think we will see big changes in cups over the next few seasons. I can see replays being scrapped. Lets be honest, "big clubs" see the FA Cup and FA Trophy as an annoyance and these clubs are the ones that get their way.
I remember Blyth being settled over 4 games and Matlock 3!!!!!
I was at Aston Uni with an Arsenal fan and a Sheff Wed fan. We watched the 2nd, 3rd and 4th FA Cup replays at the neutral venue of Filbert Street in the space of 8 days in January 1978. After two 1-1 draws, the Filbert St games finished 2-2, 3-3 and finally 2-0 to Arsenal, who went on to lift the Cup.
I went to see a Vase final at Wembley when I first moved to the wilds of Lincolnshire - Stamford v Stansted. There was an old man playing that day - ex Boro favourite Tommy Robson playing for Stamford. He was head and shoulders the best player on the field, but Stansted still won.
The trophy final you saw was two teams who strictly speaking were in league 2 and conference north as Grimsby had been promoted and Halifax relegated
