We face Redditch away in the league cup tonight.

I THINK we’re in the draw today for the next round of the fa trophy on 30th October.

Looking at this, there's no more rounds before we enter on 30th October, so I imagine the draw is today.

Would love a proper trophy run, never known us get past last 16 in my time of watching, when we played York after a few wins over FCUM, Stocksbridge etc

3 * QF in my time.

Lost 0-1 home vs Scarborough* in replay (1st game abandoned at HT 2-0 down; then draw)
Lost ?-? away vs Dagenham.
Lost 1-3 home to Dartford with Peter Taylor running the game; IIRC this was the demotion from Alliance season (or season before).

* I am sure the old-farts will have memories of that.Apart from efforts to drain the pitch at HT, I remember my sister going shopping during the game and we had to wait for them to return..... the players left before our coach did.

Of I remember correctly, the Dagenham game was the same day as Forest lost to Wolves in League Cup Final.
On our way back from Dagenham we bumped into their fans in a pub near Rugby way.
I don't think we were ever in it at Dagenham but the score escapes me though.

From Saint Jimmies's Park.

This old fart was at the abandoned Scarboro game. I remember their fans using anything available at HT - including their scarves- to mop up the surface water in front of the stand.

QF is the furthest we've gone .
The Dagenham game was 2-3 .
Both the Scarborough replay & Dagenham games we were a bit unfortunate as the games could have gone either way and both those sides went on to win the trophy that season .
The Dartford game we had a great run 4-1 at Telford ( non league cup kings at that time ) & a four game classic v Blyth . We went into the Dartford game with them struggling a division below and lead 1-0 having dominated the first half . Then Peter Taylor took us apart second half .

IIRC it was an Ian Goodwin OG against Scarborough. Garry Fleet having S*** kicked out of him in the 6 yard box at the CnB end.

It was the time the trophy was massive, and that was the season of Scarborough 3rd consecutive win of the trophy.
Father of a Euro 96 England player was playing (and two Harry Dunns).

See, nothing wrong with my memory as back up by the excellent victory at Banbury last saturday ;)

Generally speaking, I'm not a jealous person, but I'm very jealous that my wife has seen her local non league side play (and win) at Wembley in the Trophy final.

We must be one of the biggest clubs to have played in the Trophy over the entirety of its existence to have made no real impact . Worcester & Weymouth are another two who spring to mind and possibly Bath .
Have been to about half a dozen different finals and two Vase finals and definitely felt a bit of jealousy everytime , paticallaly when it involved localish sides like Kiddy , Burton , VS Rugby & worst of all Brackley .

"We must at one time, when we used to win games, have been one of the biggest clubs to have played in the Trophy"

I'm not sure it has applied for a few years now.

For 10 years every time we drew a Northern Premier League side, we would joke "that's it then, we're out!".

True;

Clubs like Tamworth (ha ha), Stevenage, Woking and FGR have played in both Vase and Trophy finals (I think).

I have been to 1 final (Halifax) and it was great to see Hereford get thumped in FA Vase final that day :)

The list is FGR , Tamworth , Hillingdon ( debatable ) , Fylde & Hereford .
Hillingdon reached the Trophy final as original club and Vase as reformed club .
Fylde are the only side to have won both , the vase victory being under their previous name of Kirkham & Wesham .

I kinda wish we'd been demoted one league lower in 2008, to see if we could have had a Vase run!

It used to be that clubs within the same league played in different cups.

The season Tamworth won the Vase they finished higher than Boro who was in the Trophy.

That would be ace.

Id just like to play someone new. I understand why cup draws are a bit regionalised but it does limit the opportunity of playing a new side.

Nailed on to be Tamworth away now...
