Hypothetically, had we beaten Stratford and been on the same run as them, we'd have had Shrewsbury at home in the first round proper

Imagine the Shakespeare based headlines if they beat Shrewsbury .
' The taming of the shrew ' nailed on .

Banbury United v Barrow.

There's some very good ties for non-league clubs.

And of those ten games, five feature FL clubs that have been in the conference.

I “remember they day” when drawing a FL club was guaranteed to be a massive thing…. Rochdale, Crewe, Scunthorpe, Burnley, Lincoln.

Football changed .

Remember that cold 1985 November day at Manor Park against Burnley...
Very surreal for me being a Boro and Burnley fan....
Mixed emotions....
Kevin Hird played for Burnley that day, a Nephew of my Mother....
But the most surprising thing was Peter Divine scoring a brace...
Only scored 4 goals that season(midfielder), 2 in the league 2 in the cup...
Not known for his scoring abilities, talk about insult to injury
Then the irony of being knocked out at The Turf by Rotherham United, would you believe....
The next season being nearly relegated to the Conference/Gola League...
Last game of the season game affectionaly known to Claret fans
as :- "The Orient Game"

Oh and another piece of mind numbing trivia shit....
Hinckley born Alan Taylor (of the1975 West ham cup winning side) was also playing that day...
He didnt get a sniff at goal...Well past it I think....
Ah the memories....The pitch invasion of the Burnley fans from the Canal Side and the hasty retreat
when they came up against a Boro Steward( one of the Parkers I recall) who was a Kung fu black belt...
He managed to drop kick a couple of them...lol...

I remember standing outside of Torquay railway station with my mates, in a queue, listening to the radio...there was an incredible result that day & an incredible goal-scoring feat.

Who were the two teams playing in that game, what was the score & who was the goal-scorer?

I'll give you a clue...they were both teams from the south coast?

Bournemouth beat Margate 11-0 (?) with Ted MacDougall scoring 9. It took the edge off the pouring rain and the injustice of Boro's 1-0 defeat.

Spot on about Macdougall but I'm sure the score was 13-1 (?).

Definitely 11-0 .

You are confusing the Boscombe game with Gasthorpe Villa's 13-1 annihilation of little Winkleford Beach F.C.
