Then watched him when he played for us so now not so sure

He wasn't terrible for us he showed a few flashes of what he could do but he never seemed to fit into the side for some reason . I certainly hoped for a bit more . My opinion he came because he was offered a shed load of cash without really knowing what he was getting into and quickly regretted it .

He did say he hadn’t played for two or three months so once properly match fit who knows what he would have been like, interesting he has gone back to Tamworth, obviously things he wasn’t happy with at Boro, probably not the only player who has felt that this season.

He wasn’t as impressive as expected but I think “unfit” is an easy label ….. never stopped this management team before ;)

Most of JG have not played for months (and I am not including the time when they have put a boro shirt on)
Class/pedigree should shine through. Osborne (who IMO has been impressive whenever played) is a prime example.

If Benbow is "just two weeks away", then give Bradley more time. The way to be "match fit" is to play matches.

I'm with AA in that I don't believe fitness was the reason.

The way I suspect things work.

The club provide the volunteer information and the volunteer publishes it.

So, that in itself has an element of proof reading.
I also acknowledge the volunteer may just cut and paste AND I also acknowledge mistakes happen.

There has been a number of badly worded releases over the years. anyone Remember the random Uses of capital Letters ;)
Its when other clubs names (often altrinham) and basics are wrong thats really bad.

Duel/Dual was a minor thing and I guess not many noticed it.

Question is does it really matter as long as we understand the information provided ? Seems to me the club is already short of volunteers so picking fault with those that are volunteering is not going to help.

Nobody is picking fault with any volunteer. The fault is in a process that allows badly worded and misspelled press releases to be published. This in spite of offers to help.
Anyone who thinks that duel and dual are interchangeable has been badly let down by our education system.

I dont think anyone is "picking fault" with the volunteers.
I personally did not spot the dual/duel mistake (and expect others didnt either) and fully accept these things happen.

Someone published an eMail (ref Bradley) that was sent out by the club; That was poor.

Like they appreciated Greg's offer(s)? ;)

I also offered assistance when JG first took over- heard nothing back. LT was actually very good in this regard, for all his faults. Regularly provided me info AND player details to produce interviews and content. Still speak to James Clifton and Cieron Keane occasionally as a result of that.

Helped IN too.

Thanks for pointing out the error (Re: Noble).

It was my fault, quite simply a genuine mistake.

I’m sorry it has upset some of you.

We do work really hard to to update you. I know most of you do appreciate what we do & it is perhaps only a small majority calling out the errors.

We’re working with the club to improve communications with the fans, who have been open to new ideas & scheduling time to work with the media team to bring you more content. Which hopefully many of you will have seen on the YouTube channel. Which we are trying utilise more regularly.

We are a small team of volunteers & we all work hard. Some of us are studying media, some of us holding down full time jobs and still try to bring you news from the club, as & when we receive it.

Last week I received abuse from one ‘fan’ and it’s simply not acceptable, when all we’re trying to do is the best we can. Calling us out for mistakes is not productive, we all make them.

I am writing this as I’d like to think it may give you a moment to think & perhaps appreciate all the hard work does go on behind the scenes. There is still a group of volunteers with good ideas who want to drive things forward in the most positive way.

All I’m asking for a bit of understanding & patience.

Fact is, we all have one thing in common & that is we love our club.

I’m open to listening to your feedback, so drop me message if you feel there is something you’d like to see or improve.

Not at all upset, if it was just among us then no problem. But when it is in the public domain it reflects on the professionalism of the club. Having a second person proof read a release should be a matter of course. I understand that someone has offered his services several times but has been ignored.
We all do indeed often make mistakes, but we only know that, and can correct them, if they are pointed out.

I know its not popular with collectors of programs BUT are they required anymore and more to the point cost-efficient?
In some ways, they are the modern day equivalent to Saturday Sport papers.

I stopped buying any years ago as most things are immediately available on the web. Lets face it, no way can a printed program keep up with the comings and goings.

Going on-line would probably increase visibly of sponsors.

There are certainly different areas we can look at, some of which we’ve already talked about & discussed. I don’t currently have any input in the programme, we’ve also talked about a fanzine. I personally, do prefer digital programmes & post covid some clubs have kept them.

There is however some fans who enjoy collecting the match-day programmes, we have to bare this in mind. As I said, we’ve collectively got some good ideas and we’re working with these in mind.

I’m happy to keep note & put your thoughts to the club. With a view of putting things in motion.
