Thanks for the updates . Got to admit when i saw the side for today i feared the worst but much needed win and a second clean sheet on the bounce . Just got to stay out of that bottom three now .

The result today (and last week) can’t be knocked but lowerstoft have conceded more than anyone in this league and scored fewer than boro.
If he the difference then AGAIN what the hell do the main two do?
As I said, small steps but boro had runs before.

There is a school of thought, presented repeatedly at the time, that was Wilkin was only as good as his assistants.
From listening to the new fella's interview, I do not think there is a "main one" let alone "main two" in anything more than job title.
He said several times about coming in to work as a team with different responsibilities and stuff. His role sounded very much like head coach/first team manager from his own description.

Thought his most telling comment was when he said one of his roles was to identify new players

Not a lot that’s why we were bottom, both Yafai and Magunda have said AD is the reason they have signed so he must have something

And the likes of Bradley have said JG is the reason they signed.

Yes but Bradley hadn’t worked with JG before, Yafai and Magunda played under AD at Tamworth so there is a difference

Re: Small steps

Jamie Hood also had played under JG before ;)
As have most players in this league :)
I just find it impossible to believe a non league coach can have made much of a difference with experienced semi-pro players (who have shown their worth all season) after a few training sessions,
If he has, then far bigger jobs await. Even a small improvement shows JG and SH for what they are. Also casts doubts on all his predecessors (and to a lesser extent the likes of Baker and Lita)
If he can sort out the mess the management team have got the team into then great.

Don’t know why you find it difficult to believe AD can have made a difference, JG and Hinks have proven how poor they are

Re: Small steps

For reasons I gave.
JG/SH have shown their ability over a number of seasons. They have failed to sign decent players and/or provided a system that works.
This is a poor semi pro level with most players having been round the block. A few training sessions is not going to change much.
Putting it another way - would anyone have been totally surprised with last two results if he had not come in?

Totally disagree, think a coach who can organise a team and put a plan in place can make a big difference, those are things JG and SH have shown themselves incapable of doing

So baker for kazi??? (My spelling is bad)
Noble back?
Have I got this right?
McGorry and Mussa been absent for a while.
At least JG sticks with the striker who literally covers a lot of ground.

Incredibly important result against a main relegation rival. Lets hope they can keep it up, too many false dawns this season.
