Bidding Process
Views: 1089
At the moment there so much confusion and a lot interest from various parties wanting to form a phoenix club in Nuneaton last thing the town needs is a two with two different phoenix club as debated many times. One thing is for certain just of direction of this new phoenix club is key and making sure the people at the top fronting it all can be trusted.
In order to make sure the people of Nuneaton can decide on the future of their club, a new bidding process can be setup, a bit like the Fifa World Cup Bid without the corruption or bribes etc...
An event where all three or four interested parties can share a 30 minute presentation and Q+A, to showcase their project and direction they wish to take the club.
By the end of evening everyone will have viewed all three or different parties plans for the towns football team. Following this the fans will secretly vote for their preferred bid. At the end of the evening all votes will be counted and it will be announced which bidding party will be charge of forming the new Nuneaton football club.
If a tie then two parties must agree to meet and negotiate joint project.
There also be an option called "End Boro" which will mean after viewing all parties planned project you are either unhappy or have no confidence that any interested party have the ability to run a successful football club within the town. If that wins then no football club application will be submitted into March deadline and a new bidding process will have to reestablished and another event later in 2024.

Wouldn’t work 😂😂😂😂
Everyone votes for plan C cause it sounds best on paper and in the 30 min where they tell you what you want to hear to win the vote, only to find out plan C “owner” doesn’t have the ability or finances to start the club after the vote and weeks later

Just like the Lib Dems!
BTW want to announce I'm stepping down from this forum. I was found to be unstable in some vague form or other. Nicholas Witchell will be gleefully trotting out assumptions until I'm well enough to perform normal duties.
(Or not)
Note to self, 'be careful what you wish for'

Best post of 2024 so far, Stone.
Succinct. To the point. Chillingly accurate.

As things stand there is one option.
The coop may or may not be looking at other opinions.
Market forces will decide.

The obvious problem there is getting the potential new owners to agree. Why would they go through that process rather than just getting themselves up and running then trying to attract fans themselves directly?

If you have rival phoenix club formed at the same time and are put in a higher level, one playing within the town the other playing in Hinckley, then that'll derail your project entirely.
At least with a bidding presentation you can showcase your plan to the doubters and maybe win them over. Maybe an agreement can be met where the winning bid will only be allowed to submit their application, a rival phoenix club would have to wait a year to submit their application where by that time they may go off the project especially if the other team are doing well.

I think it's best that whoever wants to set up a club does so and then leaves it to the people/fans to go and watch if they want too.
Currently (unless I've missed it) there is one club forming.

Yep -
Market forces will decide.
The best setup may be in Hinckley
There maybe another who can build a 6000 stadium in Riversley Park and donate (not loan) millions to the new company. .
There maybe another who pays off all Boro Leisure’s debts and returns to LW and reapplies to the southern league.
All hypothetical - market forces will decide and the survival
Of the fittest.
We don’t want two or more phoenix clubs. I suspect if that likely then one or more may drop out - particularly those who late likely to lose the most.

There will be plenty of time to consider all options (if that's what we end up with?), while we are playing out of town, in any event...there is no rush!
Edit:
A private investor can make an offer for NBBC owned property, which the Council could consider favourably if it increases their capital reserve, particularly if the offer is significantly higher than what they paid for it.

You are looking at it purely from a fan perspective. If someone thinks they can launch a bid now, get a club up and running and an application to a league, how would you convince them to go through your process and maybe lose the right to try for a year?
