Apparently there owner is changing his mind and is now talking about carrying on but dropping to step 6 .
Rumour has it that it was a rash decision made after a fall out with the local council , i'm taking my ball home , type of thing and he's now regretting it .

The weired thing is Coalville have been making new signings, they have signed 2 or 3 in the last week, why did the owner allow that to happen if he was going to pull out !!

Finances.
Again, with the caveat that I am reading this right from CH.
COALVILLE TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB LTD (09123781)
Liabilities
30-Jun-23 - £120.262
30-Jun-22 - £126,822
This includes (30-Jun-23) £82,292 due to a director.
They have and only ever had 1 director since July 2014.
so in 10 years they have run up £126,000 in debt. Remind me what the increase of Boro Leisure debt since 2020?
for balance - I guess the director has gifted money than loaned it (and quite right to...should be a regulation)
I also guess the timing is down to trying to find someone to take the club on.

Clubs need to be run within their means. Pay players what you can afford. Then see how you do. Too many clubs pay out silly wages it’s time to stop doing that.

WOW
That was totally unexpected.
I had a soft spot for them and they appeared to be well run*** with good structure. I thought they were getting/had got their 2nd pitch upgraded to 3G......suppose that could be a different entity.
*** just goes to show what looks good on the outside is not telling the whole story.

The question is are non league clubs with small support viable? Were Boro economically viable at Liberty Way with crowds only between 500- 1000 ish? Were Boro viable at Manor Park?
Was it always the fault of those who owned the club that Boro failed three times in 30 0dd years?
Should those who wish to see the rebirth of Boro now accept that only low level non league is financially doable?
VS has published financial details of Boro at Liberty way many times and losses seem to have occurred most seasons under Thorn and JG. I think IN once called the Boro a poisoned Chalice.
Can non league clubs such as Boro only ever survive with private cash injections?
I would hazard a guess that virtually all clubs are in some sort of debt.

Agree don’t think non league clubs are viable anymore without a money man, if they want to be successful, if they want to just sit there it is possible but again not without the money man which is why I’ve watched Boro die three times in my lifetime, and these non clubs that do have a money man are basically buggered the moment he leaves or gets bored hence Coalville
Don’t think Nuneaton can sustain a football club and the new club is a completely waste of time / energy and money, it will just go the same way but that’s just my opinion and won’t go into that 😂

As sad as it is Spurs I totally agree with your last sentence. It seems some wont let go and I can totally understand that as the club has been a big part of all our lives. There is no doubt many mistakes have been made but to me three collapses in 3 decades tells me that there isn't sufficient interest on a regular basis for Boro to compete at the higher level of non league.

I think/hope the new club is sustainable BUT people need to appreciate the level it can operate on. The structure is such that it should survive.
Even recently you see boro fans thinking National-League was where boro should be (I thought mid-table conf-north with perhaps the odd holiday in the national0.

Crowds were relatively poor in the North. Only a big money man aka Rushden bloke would keep Boro in national league and look how that turned out. Glory hunters seldom stay when the money dries up and a club nosedives.

My opinion
With the level they playing at if they aren’t immediately successful think they in serious trouble a fanbase won’t stay around at that level for long and kids won’t go watch them with football on tv etc so with aging fanbase can’t see where future fanbase comes from
Just my opinion
But sadly I have zero interest just don’t want to watch football that low basically just pub level - not for me at all

Its not for me either.
For a Nuneaton club to return to SLP or North then Money is needed.....and we know what that would mean.
The new club wont be able to chase the dream.
Also...... I think (understandably) the new club is too early, but thats debatable

Money certainly needed but biggest problem is a lack of ground in Nuneaton. No money to buy, very little appropriate land available and very unlikely to be helped by council and why should they?

Think the FA cup replays show what the prem think of the rest of football, the money gap will be that much soon I expect a ridiculous amount of clubs to go bust over the next 5-20 years and being outside of the prem will just be pointless

I am amazed more clubs (all level) did not go to the wall due to covid.
I am a bit more pragmatic about FA Cup replays.
The FA need to revamp the competition totally rather than pander to the big clubs. A middle ground is needed.
>>>> Former Nuneaton Boro fan <<<<

My cunning plan.
My cunning plan for FA Cup is
1 - Keep qualifying rounds as is.
2 - Probably keep round 1 and 2 as is.
3 - (controversial) have 3rd round seeded, with prem and championship in the "away pot".
4 - No replays.
My rational
* very few non-league clubs reach 3rd round and 20? league 2 or 3 and (lets be honest) a lot is down to luck (and with the luck comes £££s).
* Everyone wants a giant killing.
* for a lower club to beat a higher club its normally at home. In winning then more prize money.
* Its now 50/50 if a home game; why not make it 100/0
* It increases the chance massively that a small club will play a big club.
* Big clubs should win irrespective, but if they want to risk playing weakened team then so-be-it.
* No replays for big clubs - What they want.
I dare say people will pick holes and want "tradition" but something HAS to be done.
I have actually heard similar/same being mentioned by "experts"/"FA Officials"

The fa cup decision is appalling by the FA but is the competition as attractive as it once was?
Mind you haven't Boro only played once in the proper rounds at Liberty way- Vs Exeter with a crowd of only 2000 odd.
Happy to be corrected if wrong but its the only first round game I can remember at LW.

Think it disgusting personally
Tottenham players to tired to play Shrewsbury away in a replay half way through the season but have no issues going Australia this week and then a tour of Asia between euros and prem
Almost like there’s more money made from friendlies than FA cup and that is all they are interested in not the players welfare ummm……….
