I know my hope/vision is different than most, but I am not impressed with this (or interview I have seen).
I half expected Alex Dean to sign (who has said he retired from football) , but bringing in an ageing journeyman is so "old Boro".
His interview said things like "the club is too big for this league" and "they have a great history" and "I was going to join a club higher in the pyramid".
I have looked at the club stats, and they have never won a game, have no history and have never been watched by anyone. Joining a club higher is not much of a challenge :)
Finances been mentioned. I have 100% confident the budget wont be exceeded.
I just hope this venture is not the "emperor in new clothing" (but with financial constraints). .

Pretty much what I think. Same old, same old cyclical Boro. Boro too big for this league , massive history, blah, blah, blah.
The fact is Boro no longer exists - it's Town now and there should be a proper break from the past. Nuneaton Boro in the modern era was poorly governed and became financially unviable due to the damage done to the club's reputation by continued failings. Rebuilding any reputation may take years,if possible at all.
The biggest problem facing the new club is returning to Nuneaton with any viable sites at an absolute premium. Manor Park Boro were advised on what locations.were suitable by the council yet non turned.out to be suitable. The task of building a new ground in Nuneaton which may cost upwards of 1.5 million will be nye on impossible with no money and no help.from the council. Why would they help anyway with Boros track record?
It's time all this Boro nonsense was put to bed and the past left behind. Trying to.regurgitate the same failed.institution just won't work. It's town now and if.that is to be successful people need to learn from past.mistakes.and.not repeat them. I'm sceptical whether a high level non league club can ever be financially viable in Nuneaton again and it may be the time to.accept.Town for what it is - southern premier at.best.

Why is having an opinion āmoaningā.
I hoped to see a new approach to the club; after history proven many times the old approach does not work.
I am indifferent to it all.
I was not happy with JG signing journeymen; why should I be happy now.

No - but he's right about this. Some Boro opinions are based on the reality of the last 50 odd years. You can't escape what's happened but you can.learn.from it...That's what Town followers should fo.

I like the idea that financial constraints are in place and itās not one persons decision.
I appreciated all the hard work done by everyone.
As I have said - I think a years grace would have a been better but timings did not fit.

I like the fact we're signing the BEST ( on paper ) players we can afford..... Now I'm hoping there ALL going to be on non contract and all on very little money,( maybe pay as you play in some cases ) If that means journey men so be it but they must be what we ( the managers ) want.

Spot on and I am sure the guys running the new club realise the importance of living within our means without being reminded almost daily by certain posters on here.
Daly appears to be an exceptional signing at this level and a show of intent because I donāt think it is unreasonable for the supporters of Nuneaton Town to expect their club to be targeting promotion at this level.

Unreasonable...... I'm taking it to be granted, promotion is a must to push us forward.
Budget is based on 200 , some teams are probably basing it on 20 . I'm sure we'll probably have one of the best budget's in the league, so will be seen as the team everyone wants to beat, so expectations will be high.

It's a bit of a lose / lose situation . Without doubt we are by far the biggest club in the division so fans are not going to expect us to hang around for long . To do that we need to bring in players above the standard of this league . We are not going to do it by signing a team of 18 year olds or local Sunday league lads . So it's either live well within our means and risk getting stuck at this level or push the boat out a bit and it's ' same old boro ' .

Are we the "biggest" club in the division? I thought that we were a new club called Nuneaton Town so how does that make us the "biggest" or are you confusing us with a dissolved club called Nuneaton Borough?
It is high time that everyone stopped referring to the Boro and how it was run.
The overall negative attitudes on this forum are in danger of driving those of us looking forward to a new club away.
With regard to signings, the usual suspects lost no time in coming on here with doom and gloom and referring to the Boro. Who on earth do they think are queuing up to sign for us? We have no ground yet, we have no record yet, we have no infrastructure yet, so we have to get the best that we can.
So come on, less "same old same old" moans, the Boro is gone sadly, Town lives.

Care to explain your post to me? Care to highlight the positives? Care to explain how "lose lose situation" is a positive?
In fact going by subsequent signings your uplifting post was somewhat jumping the gun.

Sorry but we will be seen as the biggest club in this division whether we are or not . That will bring pressure on the club to succeed at this level from within and outside the club and it's not going to be easy for the club to manage that expectation within our limitations .

Why are we the biggest club. Never been above step 6. This is not the old Borough or Town team but a completely new entity. The name might be big but not the club.

But to the players being contacted by the managers, it is a big club.
To the fans of other clubs in that league it is a big club.
To the players of other clubs, it is a big club.
I wouldn't be surprised if every team Boro play away on a Saturday will have one of thier biggest, if not the biggest, gate of the season.
And I wouldn't be surprised if players scoring against, or winning against, Boro would be celebrating a little more.
Nuneston Town 24 may not be a long established club, may not have a ground, but it is still seen as a big name, a big scalp and a big pay day.

I donāt understand why there is even a debate about our status, Nuneaton Town ARE the big club in this league and surely virtually all of our supporters expect
I know I do.

Nuneaton is a big name is non league football based on the past. My point is that the current club have not played a game yet and are a step 6 club. I think everyone in the league will want to beat them, based on history, not on the achievements of the current club.

I think it goes hand in hand .....
Our gates will probably be 10 times that of the lower supported clubs in our league. That doesn't mean we will have the biggest budget.
let's face it we don't even have a ground of our own but we will still be seen as a big club in a small club league.

Boro have not had their own ground for 15 yearsā¦ā¦I have no doubt this incarnation will pay the rent and not run up Ā£100,000s (or even Ā£10,000s) of debt.

I say this because I think Bedworth agreed rather than the council enforcing.

On a budget of 200 spectators no.one is going to be on silly money, players will sign because they want to play for the club not for money, one Nuneaton based player I know who has played for many of the local clubs but never Borough said he would love to play for his hometown club

Edit.... My thoughts are 4 or 5 experienced players that will take most of the budget ...... Then fill in with youth players..... These will then be coached by the likes of LD
