Loyiso Recci defender looks to have loads of experience slightly above the level we will be at .
There's been a little bit of concern over our signings and ok we've signed half a dozen young untried players . We have also signed seven or eight players we look a bit above the level we'll be at , step 5 or good step 6 players and one who should be head and shoulders above the level in more ways than one . If you sign a whole team of players who are probably a step higher than the level your at your going to be strong and that seems to be the way were heading .

Should be signing the best players that want to play Sunday pub football and stick within the budget no matter of age or if they previously played for the club or not

Wouldn't word it exactly the same but fully agree with your main point .
A budget has been set as long as we live within that then sign the best players we can . I doubt the young academy lads are costing much at all and that's nearly half the squad .

We've signed a number of players from the Birmingham / black country area . They are going to be travelling over here probably at least a couple of times a week and could sign for clubs more local to where they live at the same level or even slightly above . I doubt there doing it for a tenner i certainly wouldn't be .

Exactly
Easily 2 to 4 times higher than a lot of teams in this league 😂 last time I went griff there was about 50 people there for a league game
Just picked a completely random game from last season Coton wood vs heather saint johns 16/09/2023 attendence 50 🤷🏻♂️
* Just found last year attendences 200 would be 2nd highest only to Hinckley who had 238, 15 of the teams average attendence was below 91 so yeah gates of 200 is a massive financial advantage

Ignorance on my part here but I was sort of always under the thought at this level of football your wage bill really just consists of paying for the players expenses for travelling
I always thought Griff players more or less played for free or maybe for around £10 a game, if they played really well thought they also maybe get a kebab from Jim’s in the green thrown in
Can’t see there being a “wage bill” so to speak with teams that average around 30 fans a game so the fact boro are budgeting with a wage bill again says everything to me personally

So you thought they were just getting expenses.
Then you thought they getting maybe a tenner.
Then you thought they were getting a win bonus, even if it was in kind.
All of those things, every one of them, needs money to pay.
Even if no bonus kebab, even if no tenner, there would still be expenses to pay.
That needs money.
And if anyone has outgoings for staff, then they need to have a budget for that, so I agree, the new club having a budget to pay players says everything to me as not having one would be insane.

It’s almost like people can think multiple things about the same thing they have no clue about, also people have told me multiple things about the same thing and who do I know is correct
I don’t know the temperature outside currently from my window it could be 18 /19 / 20 degrees but how do I know unless I actually know so I can speculate on what it is 😂😂😂
Of course that all needs money pretty standard but if players are playing for free which is one of my thoughts then don’t really need a wage budget for playing staff if it is zero and you just give every player a tenner for petrol after every game 🤷🏻♂️

My point was is if is a tenner for expenses only, or if it is 350k a week per player, a playing budget is needed.
The very idea that a club at this level would build a squad without a budget is bereft of logic.

Nuneaton Griff won this division, then the Premier Division,on debut (98/99) and successfully defended their title the following season (99/00) without a players budget. Promotion was denied at the time because of the facilities at The Pingles Stadium. It was truly a magnificent achievement by the management, players and committee to make the step up from the Coventry Alliance.
We were warned, but did it anyway.

That Griff team was pretty well a group of mates with a mate as manager who stuck together out of loyalty but once that side broke up , Griff who are the only team in the division without a wage budget according to Griff , have become a side who spend most seasons trying to survive in mid table or lower .
I'm sure our owners could run without a budget if our fans are happy to be average or below average step 6 for the next 20 / 30 years .

Fair points, but from another angle,it could be said that Griff are providing amateur players unrivalled facilities to play their sport both midweek under lights and on most Saturdays. And of course under, under the guidance of a prudent level-headed Chairman and committee. I see to recall that SAA FC tried to hang onto Griff’s shirttails and went Kaput.
We were warned, but did it anyway.

Griff are a top club who as you say run within their means and provide local lads a decent level of football , but they fill a niche that people connected to the club are happy with . I'd suggest the ' new boro ' are aiminging for a bit more than that .

In 22/23 Hinckley AFC paid about £37k for players, so if broken down across 40 weeks for a season £920 a week:

It does sound strange that people see a signing from Rugby (narrowly missing relegation from step 8) as a good signing but that’s the reality JG left us with.
I can’t see me going to many (ir even any) games next season.
I totally understand the reason; All those involved are doing a great job but wonder if enough distance has been made with previous club to attract the less committed (ie those that became dissolutioned and those who only attended Liberty Way).
I have no doubt that success (on and off the field) will happen and winning should attract people.
Let’s wait and see I suppose..

The latest signing is the most impressive so far for me.
Experience at a level or two (or three) above, recently a regular at a promoted team the level above, so it’s one of them that’s from higher leagues without seeming ridiculous.
