Dear reader, I was there at the inaugural game of our phoenix from the ashes club. Praise and thanks to all those that made it a reality.
Impossible to read a great deal into the very first match but we gave Quorn (a Step 4 club who missed out in the play offs last season) a good run for their money. Stand out player on both sides was Cody Mullans. Our second half goalie (a triallist?) made some excellent saves too. 5 later second half substitutions bringing on some young lads didn't lose our momentum or competitiveness. An encouraging start on the field.
Up the Boro! Onwards and upwards!

Yep went myself....your assessment of the game spot on. Lovely little ground also for the level. Encouraging start to our long slow haul back and thank you to all the people thus far who have been involved and whom are backing us. I have a team to support again.

Judging by the comments of fans who went we turned in a decent performance . Hundred boro fans for a midweek away friendly is also encouraging .

Yes agree we was on the front front not much difference between the two sides for the first 15-20 minutes
The difference between the two sides was the prolific paddy Webb with A great finish excellent player too good for step 4
Conceded a sloppy goal for the second which was more about webbs excellent link up play.
But we never gave up and pushed forwards with a well taken goal from the impressive Cody mullan , this guy is gonna be a fan favourite and reminds me of a young Darren bullock , loves a tackle high energy and great on the ball.
Wholesale changes around 70 mins saw us not let up with many of the academy lads seeing a decent run out .
Very impressed again with them never looked out of place and I have no doubts about their levels.
Some patience is needed with them , a couple of seasons under their belts and we will have some team.
As for quorn what an excellent set up can’t believe that we haven’t been there before and I hope the guy that fell over in the stand is ok
Ultimately it’s fantastic to be back UTB

We have been to Quorn before. Pre season friendly the last time we reformed as Nuneaton Town summer of 2008.
Even B4L attended it!

Back when we were young and irresponsible, erm I mean care free!
If I started drinking now at the time we did that day, I’d be asleep by full time!
Glad someone else remembers we played there though.
