Melton Town - Tonight's Friendly

Ex Nuneaton Boro (not Town) player Damien McCrory plays for these, as well as a former trialist (not sure he ever signed) Kairo Edwards-John.
A good test for us against a Step 5 side.

Melton are a strong side a level above where we will be playing . Yet to play anyone from our level but we're proving competative against sides from higher levels so encouraging signs . Did think Saturday that we looked much stronger defensively than going forward , that may change against sides of our own level .

I went to the game last night and here is a short summary of the game.
Melton were a very athletic team, moved the ball around the park very well, I thought they were as good as Quorn last week.
Town had a changed team from previous games but defended very well, particularly Batchelor and Recci who held us together and talked to their team mates constantly through the game. We had no attacking threat, even when we had set pieces we never looked like scoring.
Melton Town had a very impressive setup, similar to Quorn, friendly people as well.

Just based on one game but I thought Recci looked decent on Saturday and i can see him & Daly being a very strong pairing at step 6 .
As for the forwards , Pegg looks like a player who hasn't played much in the last year and is going to take time . As for Martin those who thought Benbow could do with a salad should see Romario . He showed some nice touches but he's about three times the size he was when with us previously or Redditch .
