Agree with almost everything that has already been said by everybody else on here so far. If only we had put that penalty away with over 30 minutes left to play things could have got very interesting.
But the boys never gave up till the very end that was what really impressed me. Lots and lots of football left to play yet. Work in progress we move on , go again and bounce back.

No complaints here, just interested.
We base our budget in crowds of 200 which is good as we get more than that.
What sorta crowds would Heather based theirs on? As another successful side at this level.

100 -120 average having a quick look at last seasons crowds, even playing Hinckley they only got 247.
Perhaps they have an owner who is funding them.

To answer your question.
Long ago when you were still in shorts I did a three matches in a day Session.
Lunchtime Boro . Might have been away to Cov. Sporting? Afternoon Cov. Evening game AFC Hinckley v Hevver. ( You must not pronounce it like a shrubby prickly plant although they definitely had a few pricks in the dugout tonight)
Stinkley murdered them. Hevver had a player sent off and were totally inept. It was one of the funniest and most one-sided Non League games I have ever seen.
I think it was at Middlefield Lane which was Athletics ground then?

They had a fair following tonight.
Especially given the 2021 census gives Heather a population of 1068.
Fair play to them. No wonder they celebrated at the end!
They weren’t more skilful than us but they were better drilled and more experienced. Clearly big advantage to have played together for longer. Lots of falling to the floor and head clutching and keeper very savvy!

Take their number 9 (Jardine) out the side and they had nothing imo.
We seriously lack some creativity and control in the middle of midfield though.

Agree with all that.
I think we have to credit them with taking their two chances and denying us our one albeit a poor penalty.
Tonight they deserved it but we were going to lose sometime.
Great turnout from Nuneatonians again in the far off land of Beduth near the border with C*v.

Never. Never. Never.
I think many there last night (even the few Heavearians present), expected it to be a tough one beforehand for the new BoroTown and so it proved. It was evident early doors that Heever were going for it and they weren't there to make up the numbers. On paper I think a few followers of both clubs had already written off our chances.
Once they'd discovered that they had a sympathetic ref ,they seemed to realise BoroTown were going to be seen off and so it proved. The amount of time Heever spent collapsing and rolling about (with the inevitable "miracle " recovery to follow), was a tactic they had woven into their game plan. Alvechurch used to do this too, I recall. Last night it broke play up effectively and meant a stop-start game that seemed to suit them. Remarkable how many "injuries" occurred as BoroTown were going forward.
Fine margins though. If we'd have put away the penalty ,we might have seen a late blitz on their goal like the one second half against Ingles. Might have snatched a point even. Did not happen but we were not overrun nor were we outclassed. We got beat. Move on.
Jimmy is busy saving his beloved Barwell I thought, so let's leave him and his weird travelling circus right where they are,
I fear for us against the Griff though. That's also going to be tough unless we are as they say "at full strength."

Etc. Although by the screaming at the end, you would have thought they had already won the title. It's August ffs.
( Nor will they, btw, if anyone would like to have a fiver on it right now?) They will meet harder opposition than our side tonight over the season. Falling over conning the ref or crying every time an opponent touches you won't work for them then. They came to spoil, succeeded and had the game wrapped up after 46 minutes.
So no burst bubbles, no banana skins etc. from me tonight. We were beaten by a stronger and far more savvy side. We have lost our first game but I have a feeling that it wasn't our strongest line up tonight and there are still some entertaining games to come ?
Although their keeper was a bit of a lardass and unnecessarily melodramatic, he made a couple of decent saves, besides the penalty and seemed well organised.
I've seen BoroTown win twice "at home" sorry, at Beduff, already this season, which equals the worst season I ever endured under you know who. That was as good as it got that year until the following May.
I think this BoroTown will beat quite a few more teams yet. I am pleasantly surprised by their fitness, their enthusiasm and yes, (stop laughing at the back,). their skill level.
