Treasurer Update - October

Apparently a few people were asking about this at the game yesterday. It's been on the club website since Wednesday:

This is excellent, Lee.
a) It's transparent but b) it's also very professionally put together in a clear to understand way.
Cheers

Thank you, MJNB.
The way I see it, if you entrust your hard earned money, be it through the turnstiles, on merchandise, donations or the local businesses sponsoring the club, it's the clubs duty to make sure that money is used responsibly. For me, this is the best way to do it.

There are lots of things which have pleased me this season but the biggest one by far is proper Chair, proper Board, proper Treasurer and proper Secretary. And of course proper records including minutes.
This ain’t just hindsight I posted this as a wish during the demise of the previous Club. (Although the company still exists goodness knows what will happen to that)
Well done to all and to the returning hordes of Nuneatonians home and away! So heartening and just shows the level of abuse of process going right back to Stadiasafe and the return of trust!

I understood it .....
Just if we're a no profit organization how can we save
( profits ) for the future.
Don't we have to spend the profits each year to balance the books ????

Terminology / words / English language
Profit —- surplus
Loss -- deficit.
If you are given £100 to spend and only spend £90 you have a surplus of £10 to spend on something else.
If you buy something for £90 and sell it for £100 you have made a profit.
A business can take profit out of the business.
A not-for-profit business can not take money out of the business.

I may sound a bit thick ere .... But if we're a not for profit organization how can we save money for the back to Nuneaton cause?
Surely we need to save/invest any profits for the future ?

It's a good question.
Yes, as a not-for-profit organisation, all surpluses (profits) have to be reinvested into the club - and that investment needs to be made in many areas. Obviously for us the biggest priority is getting back to Nuneaton and most of the clubs surpluses will eventually go to that cause.
However some will need to be spent elsewhere on smaller projects, and common sense dictates that some of your surpluses are put by "for a rainy day" so to speak.
