Next Season

Early days yet but what to expect / look forward to next season .
We will definitely be in the Vase and almost certainly back in the FA Cup . We will also be back in the BSC .
We will probably be promoted to the UCL Premier South , but it could be the MFLP . It all depends on the geography of the other promoted / relegated teams and how the FA decide to move the boundaries which they regularly do . We won't know until all the play offs are done so sometime in May .
Worth noting that if it's the UCL they traditionally start early . Last weekend in July with a groundhop weekend . So you can be playing any time across the weekend from Friday evening to Sunday tea time .

I would think we will be in United Counties Premier South. The Midland League Premier seems to be moving north to Cover Staffordshire Shropshire and parts of South Cheshire. The North West Counties league is over subscribed and Midland League premier under subscribed so they are only putting North Midlands based clubs into the MPL. If Atherstone don’t go up I expect them to be in the United Counties Premier South.

Will have been a long time since Nuneaton, Hinckley, Atherstone and Rugby were all in the same league.
I'm not certain it's happened since I began watching (1993)

Local rivals

They were certainly all once on our fixture list, as were Beduff-I have the programmes to prove it. However as you say, maybe not all at the same time. Also Coventry Sporting at Kirby Corner. I once did a three in a day tour which comprised Boro v Sporting (lunchtime), Cov v No Idea and Hinckley Athletic v HSJ (evening kick off).
Hinckley of course had four clubs: Town and Athletic (who we played) and Hinckley FC who I recall ground shared with Athletic at Middlefield Lane. Town & Athletic made up the four by merging and then playing on the outskirts of Town.
And then there was the late Leicester United and those epic Marsden-baiting scenes....
I may have got some of that wrong. Apologies if so.
I had forgotten that the last time I saw Boro win promotion outright (as opposed to via Play Offs) was away at Sheepy Road. And that got quite feisty at times.

The final relegation place in NPL Midlands seems to be between Rugby Town and Bedworth. One of those will be in United Counties League South. Bedworth have a 3 point advantage after winning on Saturday but a few games to,go.

Oh yeah, certainly played them all, but I don't think at the same time.
92/93- unsure, I was very young. Just remember hammering Redditch 8-1.
95/96- played Hinckley and Rugby, but not Adders. Tamuff too.
98/99- remember playing Adders, but not Rugby or Hinckley. Had Tamuff and Burton in the mix too.
Conf North years- Played Hinckley a lot. and a bit of Tamuff.
08/09- Played Adders (and Leamington and CHASE TOWN), and Beduff.
09/10- Played Rugby
Conf North Years x2- Hinckley again, including the 6-1 home defeat. and Tamuff.
Recently- none of them particularly.
I genuinely don't think ALL 4 of Hinckley, Atherstone, Nuneaton and Rugby have been in the same league at the same time in the last 30 years. Await being corrected, but that's my instinct :)

Even though Step 5 is still at a level we are unaccustomed too, at least it will feel more like something we are used to, certainly amongst some of the older fan base.
Some or maybe all of Hinckley AFC, the Adders, Gresley Rovers and Rugby Town, plus Coventry United, Rugby Borough, Lutterworth Town would make an incredible season that could reignite interest in non-league football across the region.

Genuinely think this helps with the bond between players (with other players) and fans too.
The lads all kinda know each other, like we had in 08/09 etc, and with the lads all living in the Midlands, are more likely to hang around after a game and mix with the fans.
Local games mean we have big away followings.
And when we have a large fan base for the level, that inevitably helps attract players who enjoy having support.

Forgot Racing Warwick.
Away league game. Great Boro turnout: the barriers collapsed :-)
Not sure but seem to recall one of the Daventrys, too?

We played Daventry in an FA Cup qualifier in 2011, but don't think we have in a league game.
RC Warwick 95/96 yep.

As things stand it will certainly be that division and it would be a good one with a number of attractive games and very little travelling .
The FA do have a habit of doing the unexpected . Last season at step 6 they block moved all the Leicestershire teams from the UCL to the MFL1 & nearly all the Salop & Staffs teams north into the NWCL . No one saw it coming . Until the make ups are officially announced we can only take our best guess , but we will be at step 5 somewhere (:
