Looked to see who was in goal for Barwell these days... only former Boro goalkeeper Liam Castle of course. I think the last time we seen him in goal for Boro was when we got battered 0-7 at Telford. He ain't been down the bookies again has he ;).

Dan Jezeph was in goal that day. Ginnelly dropped him for the next game and played Castle. He sent Jezeph out on loan, then had to recall him when Castle got banned for betting irregularities. Jezeph stayed in goal till Boro folded later that season.

Checked that out, your right on that one. Kept thinking Castle was in goal, Jezeph to be fair ended up doing okay in the end. Maybe just a dodgy start.

Remember AD saying about the (pretty much same) players at Boro....how they were a good group; right attitude; worked hard for each other and managed "situations".
Why oh why; did Barwell return to JG. Ian King had produced a pretty decent team.

With Brackley winning 3-0 and Kidderminster losing 1-0 that would see Brackley automatically promoted (finally).
Kiddy have to win to change this.
How I love last-game-of-season days :)

Fair play to Brackley, they've been there or thereabouts for years.

I think barwell had to better Redditch score to stay up.
Anyway - 25 mins gone and Redditch winning 2-0.
Just 6 starters (plus 3 subs) who played for “Boros saviour”.
UPDATE - Redditch 3-0 upon 35 mins.

I got it as 8 starting but may have got my management eras mixed up.
Castle, Kane Richards, Nirennold, Mancinelli, Chambers, Hickey, McManus and Rowe-Turner. With Lita, Kaziboni and Waite on the bench.
James Clifton putting Spalding 1-0 up

Hope is not a plan.

I was only counting those who played for Boro under our saviour - so no Hickey (or chambers)
Actually six starters 😌

Just one I believe.
In fact, in 12 months times the two clubs (not teams as Barwell players too old now) could at best swap places or at least be in the same league.

Correction
If barwell win and bishop Stortford lose then barwell can stay up …. If they improve goal difference
Anyway - barwell are losing 🤪🤪 2-0
Both goals by some James Clifton for splalding 😜😜

Yep James Clifton scored a hat trick in the end to rub salt into Jimmy's wounds... Bet James loved that.

I am not sure Andy Peaks (Tamworth Manager) played for Boro. We had Andy Peake ex Leicester City. Not the same player.

Having Googled he came on loan from Rushden and Diamonds in 1997/98. . Don’t know how many games he played.

i find it interesting ref our old players
i enjoy when people come up with blasts from the past
as my memory gets a bit befuddled these days
always remember a stocky left winger
we went Doncaster midweek 2-2 he scored both goals.... from memory
on a damp midweek night, not many " boro " there that night
