Not just a question of creating an atmosphere, its also be careful of having supporters walking away... which financially impact the club. Signing boro ranger is not going to pay bills.
Another note think of the words... digging up your ex girlfriend and shagging her... opposition fans will seriously think nuneaton folk are weird.

Your a bit boring now
Instead of posting absolute waffle on here have you ever thought about having a conversation with the young supporters and supporting them while they try and create a atmosphere at home and away games
If you got a problem with it move away or something
Keyboard Warrior at it again making shit up

The way you make it sound is like, stay and silent dont sing it. Create new chants, we are not a one song club.

Some fans will though... with their money which the club needs to keep afloat and return to nuneaton. Even so the chant wasn't sang all season why decide to bring back now.

Yep. My daughter-in-law was upset by that song, and has not attended since. Her husband has stopped too. That's a potential loss of over £300 per season.

It’s a vile weird song that has no relevance or place at a football match much like the strange people who sing it.

Create an atmosphere, its not like this boro ranger chant is a national anthem. Over the years we had some great boro related chants.

Yep as explained before it’s actually a Chelsea chant. Really not sure how it caught on.

Exactly! Well said Gustavus.

And btw...who is asking for silence? I haven't read that in any of these threads or posts. ( Must have missed it).
It was largely the dull dull DULL football encouraged by a succession of DULL coaches at LW that killed singing at "home" games. A few kids with a drum tried to whip up a bit of atmosphere occasionally but even that died out eventually. THAT was like a library. Going to watch Boro at home became just awful. When you only get points at home during a few games per season it becomes a chore just trudging up to the turnstiles. Never mind singing.
Many of us have been to hundreds, possibly thousands of away games supporting the Boro. Where the singing was magnificent. Dartford for example was excellent. Guiseley. Gainsborough. Bournemouth, Stoke. Swansea, Kings Lynn. Middlesbrough.
All epic vocal support. Some of us just happen to think that this particular song is a bit moronic and nowhere near as funny or inspirational as most of the others.
Out of interest, the first time I heard it, it was directed at us. ( Boro fans). As Gustavus says-it isn't remotely original.

Surely the purpose of the singing and the chants should be to try and get others in the crowd to add more vocal support to get behind the team, and to encourage the players. I can't see why anybody thinks singing about copping off with a corpse is going to achieve any of that.

Great post, honestly i love hearing an atmosphere and agree in later years liberty way was a library. Should have been called Library Way. I remember the great atmospheres of manor park and honestly i used to love it and their was never a chant about shagging dead bodies. However an atmosphere was created!
Boro Ranger chant is more of a chant for that particular group rather than the entire fan base.

Manor Park could be a library at times

Chelsea sing it because they have links with Rangers and Linfield - call themselves the Blues brothers.
But it’s one of those weird chants where one person leads it and others retort - like a US military March song. So not sure it works on a packed terrace like the real C&B end anyway,

Now that was a clever one. Trib I think, grumbled about "obscene" chants emanating from the CABE one Monday so the next time a penalty appeal was turned down at Manor Park this version was heard.
" Bus Stop in .." (etc) that was another good one. followed by "In Lincoln "-as sung to home fans at Boston/Kings Lynn, Gainsborough etc. So many variations sung by Boro fans at away games: they were intended to suggest that the home venue was a little lacking in atmosphere and design.
VoR would have liked that one.
