Is the memorial garden still at Liberty Way, or have the bereaved managed to get it moved. Not heard anything about it for a while.

The memorial garden is still at Liberty Way, and is more accessible to families now (I believe).
The co-op are still working in the background to help determine its long term future - but this is a lengthy and quite complicated process.

Hope is not a plan.

The Memorial Garden at LW can be formally deconsecrated & a new site for the Memorial Garden can be agreed.
Any remains can be carefully & considerately re-located.
Edit:
If there are ashes that have been scattered in the Stadium, then I assume the Stadium will also need to be deconsecrated?
Note:
From a pitch maintenance point of view, Clubs try to avoid the scattering of ashes on the pitch, because it can damage the pitch.
Scattering Ashes UK is a website worth visiting, if anyone is interested in looking at various Clubs policies on the subject.

It’s not consecrated ground. Ground can only be consecrated by a Bishop. I believe the land was simply blessed in a dedication service by a then local clergy man Rev Betteridge.
The stadium certainly isn’t consecrated either.
The CoOp do wonderful work and it’s best to let them get on with their hard work with regard to the Memorial Garden.
It is better condition now in terms of the surrounds as all the buildings have been demolished and removed.

For me it would be great it could be moved over the road to the crem, it will be there forever,
if not it will end up as a sad corner of an industrial estate.
Note to self, 'be careful what you wish for'

Not sure if it was just rumours but, I heard that the Memorial Garden was concecrated by the Bishop of Lichfield and Devalls had offered to move the garden to the Crem free of charge.
