One for the Jimmy fans . Farsley Celtic are expected to drop more than one division . If they do the top relegated team , on average points ,from across the Country at step 3 will be saved . That is Barwell .

No change - other than players as it was their fault and not the ones who signed them.

Very brief statement, if this was us for example you would expect an statement like "we have been lucky on this occasion but we can't hide the fact that we were very dissapointing last season and take this opportunity to reflect and improve .."

Barwell treating as the norm.

If they do stay up it’s a pretty amazing achievement for a town the size of Barwell however they’ve accomplished it!

And kudos to Tamworth also (hard to admit)

To think 2 years ago the were facing Barwell and Boro (including the abandoned game fiasco). Today they are 4 points off a play off to the football league.

Even if they over spent to stay in the league that’s been covered by their FA Cup run.

Part time as well.

Heard an podcast with Andy Peaks and he sounded a nice bloke without use of profanity.

If they are saved from relegation to step 4 they could well be put in the Northern Premier Premier League, as a straight swap for Farsley. We shall have to wait and see.

We were saved from relegation in 69-70 or 70-71 when one team folded and two merged. Can’t remember the teams

Have a feeling we were saved because Cambridge United were elected to the league.

Correct. Checking in Town to Town, Boro’ finished the 69-70 season third from bottom, but Burton (who finished bottom) had already resigned; consequently, Boro and Crawley were to be relegated, but Cambridge Utd were elected into the Football League to replace Bradford PA.

As an aside, the same page in Town to Town records that Stan Aston had been fined £10 for receiving 3 bookings across the entire season. It was a man’s game back then.

I think Brentwood and Chelmsford merged which helped to save us. We needed two teams leaving the League to be saved.

They did merge at the end of 69-70 season. I was only going on the contemporaneous report reprinted in Town to Town

From memory the Burton issue made no difference it was Cambridge’s promotion and the merging of Brentwood and Chelmsford that saved us.

Speaking of mergers could you ever see Barwell and Hinckley AFC merging?

From what i understand Hinckley Leicester Road could go anytime.
