FIFA Pitch Specifications

In simple terms, the PRO standard pitch is suitable for elite professional football...Levels 1 to 6, which includes the National/NLN/NLS.

This PRO standard pitch demands higher playing standards & is not really suitable for Community use.

The standard pitch specification, for use at Level 7 & below is more suitable for a heavy Community useage.

That said, the ground-grading regulations spell out the requirements.

That takes me back to my point about a Club's aspirations.

Do you want to be an elite professional football club, or do you want to be a recreational, community football club?

IMO, you cannot be both!

Just my thoughts!

Edit:

I would suggest that it could be very useful for the directors of NTFC CIC to invite S & C Slatter to give them a presentation on artificial grass pitches.

Nobody…..honestly….nobody cares.

We actually go to watch games. We aren’t just bothered about grass, plastic grass and Section 106s.

Please stop insulting us.

Go and find a forum that discusses grass and plastic and pleasure yourself over there.

We. Have. Had. Enough.

The fall-back position is to continue playing at The Oval & to happily accept what is on offer.

Why not just have a grass pitch when we return to Nuneaton, problem solved.

As I understand it, Ted Stocker's plan for Liberty Way was to have a grass pitch in the Main Stadium & a three-quarter size artificial grass pitch outside of the Main Stadium, for community use.

We ended up with a grass pitch, suitable for lower EFL football, which JG maintained each close season, using Merrick Services.

A three-quarter size standard community pitch would be a lot cheaper than a full size pitch, because of a significantly reduced plan area.

Also, a grass pitch is far cheaper than an artificial pitch & would not prevent the Boro from progressing upwards through the Pyramid.

The FIFA artificial pitch specifications are applied internationally & operate world wide.

They are not currently permitted for use in the Premier League & the EFL but they are used extensively in countries with very harsh Winters.

Chelsea had concerns recently about playing on Djurgarden's artificial pitch.

"The FIFA artificial pitch specifications are applied internationally & operate world wide."

That is certainly good to know

Hope is not a plan.
