A 4G FIFA pitch being laid at the Oval. Excellent news.

As one door closes, another one opens.

What is needed is for someone in the decision making process to confirm what the specification for the new pitch actually is?

It needs to be PRO quality to play in the National leagues.

Mark Grimes has previously confirmed that The Oval is currently ground-graded at Level 8/Step 4.

This is all very vital/useful technical information for the supporters of both Clubs at The Oval.

It governs the level to which both Clubs could progress upwards through the Pyramid.

Why?
It's bedworth pitch and (not being unfair) if even less likely they will reach level 6 any time soon (if ever).

It needs to be PRO quality to play in the National leagues.
Why?
Do Bedworth have aspirations for such a level?

Never rule out the possibility that the two Clubs might merge one day, out of necessity.

If NBBC cannot find a suitable home for the Town back in Nuneaton & that shouldn't IMO be ruled out at this stage, this might be a good way forward.

NTFC CIC can continue onwards in their quest for maybe 5 years but it is questionable how much longer that becomes financially/justifiably viable?

Sorry VS, I missed this one!

My view is that NTFC CIC should, out of courtesy be consulted.

I am not saying that the new Club should be involved in the decision making but they should be made aware of the reasoning behind the decision on the choice of pitch.

FIFA Quality PRO Performance for artificial pitches, which are in widespread use in Countries with very cold climates/Winter breaks.

When it comes to grass pitches, then the quality of the construction increases as you progress upwards through the leagues.

It is governed to a large extent by the depth of the root zone, which encourages the roots to penetrate further into the ground, typically to a maximum of 200mm.

Also, the top quality pitches have drainage, irrigation & mechanical aeration systems built in to the construction.

A good example is Villa Park, which is a Desso Grassmaster pitch, reinforced with nylon fibres, knitted in to the pitch at one inch centres.

These types of pitches are prefered when football clubs ground-share with rugby clubs.

Note:

The UEFA pitch size requirement is 105m x 68m.

Pitch spec - glaringly obvious reason why

So if you know all that technical stuff VOR, which is impressive tbh, you surely know the glaringly obvious reason that a FIFA pitch was installed at The Oval instead of a PRO pitch.

Or are you teasing us & you know why really, you little p-teaser you 😀

There are two choices, both of them are FIFA Quality Performance...one is standard, the other is PRO standard...which is it?

Somebody knows!

Bedworth put out its 4G FIFA so I'm sure you know why they will have gone for this choice out the two it's for a very valid reason & nothing to do with cost.

The mystery deepens!

4G pitches cannot be FIFA approved, because they don't currently have the necessary accreditation.

Only 3G pitches can be FIFA approved, because they do have the necessary accreditation.

Edit:

I have just checked the FA's 3G Pitch Register...Birmingham Area.

Bedworth United's approval has expired.

No mystery whatsoever, I think Bedworth know what they've purchased 😂 & they have stated it is 4G.

Anyway, lets get back on topic - after your knowledge you imparted on us earlier, can you explain why they have gone for the option they have stated.

Stop being a p-tease, if you have the knowledge to post what you did earlier (see below) you must know the reason why.

YOU SAID

" FIFA Quality PRO Performance for artificial pitches, which are in widespread use in Countries with very cold climates/Winter breaks.

I assume they have decided to install a 4G pitch because it is the next generation of artificial pitch.

A 4G pitch does not include the rubber crumb that is present in 3G pitches & which gives the playing surface its stability.

3G pitches are FIFA approved & have the necessary accreditation (in use).

4G pitches haven't been around long enough to assess how they perform in use & as yet are not accredited & are not currently FIFA approved...that's not saying that they will not eventually receive FIFA approval.

The FA's 3G Pitch Register is the approval document.

A 4G pitch at The Oval will provide a superb playing surface for Community use, I am assuming 24/7 until 10.30pm at night.
