Long trip midweek. A lot of clubs nearer. I would have thought it would have been regionalised for early rounds.

I would also have thought so but Hinckley have Staveley Miners Welfare ( nearly Sheffield ) away so i'm guessing they don't .

UCL League knockout cup is not regionalised and played on a Saturday. Midweek games are only scheduled if both the clubs request and agree and there is no Saturdays available in the time frame. League matches are moved around to accomodate if necessary.

There are only 20 teams in the UCLPS, so there are 4 less league games to play, compared with last year.

That also means two less home league games & a loss of matchday revenue.

Success in the Cups is going to be needed to bolster the coffers next season, with hopefully a fair share of home draws.

Looks like they've put the gate entry up from £8 to £10 which compensates for that

We create multiple budgets based on different scenarios, a process that began back in March. The baseline was centred on an 18 team league.

However, because the budget is based on an attendance of 300, playing more or even fewer has very little impact on the budget as we roughly break even at that level of attendance.

Of course, in reality it's a reasonable expectation we will surpass 300, so the main impact of the number of home games in a season largely falls on how much can be put into the "Back to Nuneaton " fund.

We used to have family at Godmanchester and Cambridge. I remember Vimto and crisps in the White Hart at Godmanchester. Early/mid sixties though.

As one door closes, another one opens.

Unlike the MFL, the UCL stage their cup games on a Saturday and the round is scheduled over the 6th September.

Also, the UCL cup rules share gate receipts, so all in all it's looking like a good day out in a nice location - perhaps with coaches laid on
