League leaders are "at home" tonight
Views: 2052
Generous as the mystery benefactors' gifts are, if the "back to Nuneaton" goal is to be a serious prospect , then we need to remind folk that BoroTown are playing one of the Lutterworths at The oval tonight.
Yes yes YES I know . The wounded, the sceptical, the unavailable, the non believers and the vastly superior will continue to stay away and that's fine by me. But I suspect that a growing minority can see light at the end of the tunnel.
Mind, it may only be a pinprick (matron!) it may even be a train coming in from the other direction, but unless we get in there and have a look, we'll never know, will we?
Potentially a banana skin perhaps, but even if we draw or lose, there's always Saturday when we face the mighty erm... Moulton. Again "at home." Sorry, I mean at The Oval.
Hope to see some of you there. It's been a while...

Engerland

Apparently are playing another "vital" game in Serbia tonight. Having dozed through another sideways/back tippy tappy Tuchel masterclass on Saturday, there's no contest for me, but I realise some may find that a tough call.
I think they have tellies in the Bedduff clubhouse though..and beer.

He should never been appointed England manager. They struggling under his leadership to beat dross. That is no disrespect to the teams we are playing but England should be burying teams like Andorra.

I'd be happier with them just playing decent football and beating a fairly average/below average side quite well. Struggling to "overcome" Andorra twice is disrespectful. I don't expect a massacre (we'll leave that to The Boro) but a comprehensive victory or even showing willing would do.
I very rarely watch The "Premier" League but when I do, with a few rare exceptions its all this cagey, probing possession stuff. Not only boring, but ineffective. It's no use blaming it on the Germans or any other "foreign" football either. They don't play like that any more. Hamburg v St Pauli in the Bundesliga the other week was rip-roaring attacking football: end to end stuff. Germany's last quarter against NI was tremendous. Engerland's cautious football is coach-driven. Other than the Trillionaires, most clubs in the Prem are parking the bus and just hoping to survive another season. Even if they don't, they are still protected via the Parachute League until they go back up. It is a system which encourages negativity.
It says much about "Engerland" that Grealish doesn't get a look in , an uninjured Maddison is not required and the fading carthorses like Henderson Walker and now deadly Dan Burn are preferred.
Hopefully Boro will stream forwards in waves again tonight because honestly, I really love it when they do that. I think increasingly, our opponents will get wise to this and eventually may work out a way of stopping it. That style of football and some of the stuff played up the road is worth paying for. Fair play to the Villa fans for walking out on the England stuff. Exhibition football it wasn't.
