I think Carsley is my favourite Boro player since the Andy Brown days…
A true Boro legend in the making imo.

If there's a better player than Callum in this league he must be some player . I do wonder with the signing of Gillies who looks a solid defender if it might be worth playing Gillies at full back and so allowing Carsley to push forward without having to keep sprinting up and down the pitch .

Squad rotation, I agree we should do it, specially for cup games ..... like to see highlights of first goal .... keeper nowhere again

Well that was depressing. Lutterworth very physical and have a great keeper.
All I can hear is bubbles bursting and banana skins.
Hope we can get something out of this .

Wow!

Only two excellent late strikes saved our unbeaten record there . Credit to Boro' for plugging away, bolstered by some much needed physicality with the combination of Danico and Jardine (finally) up front.
Credit to Lutterworth too, who arguably, deserved all three points. Big, strong, organised, gobby and cute. Lots of screaming when tackled, lots of rolling around beating the ground in agony followed by miracle recoveries etc. etc. But when they did let their football do the talking instead- they gave us problems. We see sides like that "having a go" at us all the time-and it usually rebounds on them. This time it almost paid off.
They also had a 'keeper who pulled off three or four saves and with a ridiculous kick. Although in fairness, most times he actually made contact with the ball he was outside of his area.

Only saw the second half but what a half it was. A brilliant comeback from Boro with superb finishes from Carsley and Jardine. Both teams were really competitive and gave it their all. The three subs for us in the second half really shaked things up and we passed it around really well. The team spirit we have is fantastic, so much belief in what they are doing and sticking to it.
I think in Lutterworth, March and Atherstone we've seen a good standard of step 5 football. Lutterworth have some experienced players at this level (and above).

Hope is not a plan.

To me it was a cracking game of football, over the 90 minute’s probably a fair result.

in my humble opinion a manager learns more about his squad
from a comeback like this when the chips are down.

Good fare for the neutral

The second half show was much better and improved as the game wore on and changes were made. I honestly thought that we might even sneak it at the end and although that would not have been fair to Lutterworth on the balance of play, I've seen this new BoroTown do that to sides before.
Rotation and a big squad carries its risks. However we need to bear in mind that we have had a lot of time "on the road" recently ,have been involved in four? different types of competition and for any players functioning at this level the additional wear and tear that brings has to be a consideration. Credit to last night's side therefore, for keeping at it, getting back into the game: not conceding further and pegging away to get the point. And credit to Acco and Doddsy for getting it right.
What was out of the ordinary last night was us being on the back foot from the start-and staying there for a lot of the game. We are probably more used to Boro being all over opponents from the start or for large parts of the match. It was ebb and flow last night until the last ten minutes when Boro seemed to slip into a higher gear.
Onward and upward!

I thought that it was a good game throughout, they started well with a direct fast approach which caught us out somewhat, but at a cost to their energy level.Second half was a different kettle of fish however and truthfully, without their keeper’s four or five brilliant, yes brilliant, saves Borough would have been out of sight. But that’s football isn’t it ? Oh,a special mention about Danico. He gives us strength and holding up front like no-one else in the squad and he brought us time for others to contribute. We played very well overall last night and were a tad unlucky to meet their keeper on that form.
The King is dead. Long live The King.

Walking out I overheard a conversation which went along the lines of
" Who's that new bloke? Danico he looked good?"
" Nahh. We had him last season. Weren't all that."
I couldn't help smirking and I think they saw me. I nearly added
" Yeah. Only got 16 goals during our promotion season. Average." But I didn't.
I think I read somewhere before that he's done the door? You don't generally get to last in that trade without a bit of extra nous. That's what he brings imho. A few tricks twists and turns last night seemed to fire us up a bit more. He's physically strong but there's a bit more to his game than that.
I'm glad it wasn't just me and Greg who thought their 'keeper was a bit useful. M.oM. before those two extraordinary goals. Jardine again, brings us a bit extra. He's erm..'stocky' which is deceptive. Because he moves like quicksilver at times. He had no right to hit that equaliser quite so hard from that angle. I'm looking forward to seeing the video of both of our goals again. We really do score some corkers, technique-wise.

Expect we will probably have a more settled side from. now on as players will have taken their holidays so bar injuries we should have most people available

a point is a point might prove crucial come the final table
i will/would be amazed if we go unbeaten
even at this level nobody rolls over for you
i would imagine more so that the opposite is the case when teams play us.
they will be 'up for it' + off days etc etc happen.

On You Tube, with Justin and Trev. Fascinating insight on how they saw it.
Two more inspirational leaders-another reason why the club is heading in the right direction.
" We're good footballers."
Yup. We are.
First short corner and it produced a goal. And what a goal!
