League Leaders have a "home" game tomorrow
Views: 4552
Crucial six pointer? (First v Second? Personally, I'd start with the eleven that finished against Lutterworth but that's why I never got beyond coaching mostly at Youth level.
What do we think? Did Danico AND Jards work up for us front? Is Carsley God?
Is there work to do at the back, or will we be ok if we get on top early doors and press Moulton from the start like we did Yaxley style? ( Think they went ahead before we steam rollered them, didn't they?)
Should we put in seven days notice for Wormleighton? ( Lutterworth keeper?)
Do you need to get there a bit earlier with Cov also home up the road so A444 out of Beduff likely to be busy?
Discuss.

Goalkeeper to small, hence carsley's goal.

From where I stood Carsley's goal would have beaten any goalkeeper in the world. Curled with pace into the top corner. We shall see when the highlights come up, if you are right.
Bache is not exactly a seven foot giant.

+1
There keeper was excellent, he stopped at least 3 or 4 in the first half.
Two unstoppable goals from us.

Les Green wasn’t very tall, not a bad keeper though.

At least 6ft, you can't judge a keeper on one game. Also beaten at his near post.

Watched them now, both several times. ( Love the 2x angles as well).
I see nothing to change my mind on my initial judgement. I doubt if many others will, either.
Height of keeper irrelevant. Two outstanding and unstoppable goals demonstrating technique, determination and skill.
Fans reaction and players celebrations says it all. The camera does not lie.

Fans said Rachel played well at Bugbrooke, then at Godmanchester fumbled a cross and put it on a plate for their no 9 .at any level all keepers will make a mistake. Be careful what you wish for.

My only wish at present
Views: 4250
Is for three points this afternoon.
I have absolute faith in the backroom team that have built this season's team and who put together last season's squad.
Whoever they sign will do for me. Doddsy and Acco aren't daft. They know what they are doing. ( When was the last time we could say that about our management teams?) :-)
However I do reserve the right to comment on games and sometimes even on any decent performances from the opposition.
(As some of us did with Jardine Thomas and Sawyers last season).
See you later

Same 11 as we started with for me ..... save fresh legs for later.
"Should we put in seven days notice for Wormleighton? ( Lutterworth keeper"

To answer your questions:
Did Danico AND Jards work up for us front? Better than I thought they would. Certainly gave Lutterworth lots to think about!
Is Carsley God? If not, then he's probably a close relative!

having watched moulton the other week in their 3-2 win over daventry , having been promoted last season from step 6 . they are a very young team no where near as physical as lutterworth but what they do have is pace in the team .
they will not stop running for the 90 minutes and their press is as good as i've seen . not an easy game by any stretch .
should be another nail biter imo

I thought Hendrie also made a big difference Tuesday.
If available, I’d play
Bache
Thomas. Recci. McGrath. Carsley
Currithers
Hendrie. Somel
Spruce. Jardine. Johnson

Only one player out with you predicition .
The system was tweaked just a bit and imo looked better , and it ain't been bad as it is .
Yesterday was probably the first time this season we've had out our strongest eleven . Could be an argument over Spruce but who would you drop without affecting the formation .
Our strength in depth must be a nightmare for other sides at this level . We regularly see us changing half the side early to mid way through the second half , without the level dropping , just when the opposition are starting to drop off .

not only does it sound good tactics
but to have the squad at any level to do this
is imo only going to end one way
even more so at these levels.
imperative.... feet firmly on the ground.
hence everything crossed.

Progress?
Never say never.
Being (like yourself) , of a certain generation I honestly thought that the days of me walking away from a football ground with a spring in my step and a smile on my face were finally over.
They are not.

sauce its obvious i read this forum, otherwise why would i post.
which means i still take an interest in affairs/results/club.
i only comment on general matters for obvious reasons
one or two on here know me.
you cant be a fan, first game 1952 and not know people.
i decided after the latest debacle THATS IT ive had enough.
time moves on for everyone, things alter.
hence we'll see.
UTB.
ps. one comment on the playing side of the club
the Graham Carr era has never ever been equaled for results and sheer entertainment...quality
brill.

i can understand anyone walking away
however remember the all those people you met and spoke to at the hundreds of games you attended , the good memories .
your here because you care deep down about something that has meant so much in the past to you .
these are the things i have learnt very quickly since our journey started at the football club is about the people and the community it serves .
you will see that i promise at every game , heck its not like we don't have our critics ready to pounce but where are they?
A comeback is greater than a setback ....we are not going anywhere , take a seat!
