On this day in 2018

According to my Stalkbook "memories"* , we were drubbed 6-0 at home by Bradford Park Avenue. This was during one of our earlier Town phases.

Despite only TWO turnstiles being open (due to a spat with the latest "businessman" to have taken over), the attendance was 808.

That's six more than were at The Oval last Tuesday.

* Note for Joe Towny: or we might have won 3-0 away to Everton.

Cameron Belford sent off after 54 minutes.

That was the last Boro game three of my mates watched, after that all three called it a day.

I carried on & then called it a day after the Boro v Bromsgrove Sporting game at Hinckley Leicester Road, following the Liberty Way eviction.

I did not get this one wrong. VoR hath spake, so it must be right.

I carried on into about 2023/4 getting more and more depressed. And risking life and limb over those pesky potholes or the toilets without lights.

I think my last game under the previous incarnation was Fylde? At the CBS.

Can't remember my last game at The Theatre of Pants. I think it was the season when we won twice at home?

This is the first season for quite a while when I've been uplifted enough to buy a season ticket again.

When Cam was sent off the young midfielder on loan from Port Vale went in goal (his name escapes me!).

He left Port Vale & signed for Chorley.

He later went on receive the MotM award for Chorley in a televised FA Cup tie against a League team, I think he also scored.

A very good player.

Where is he now?

Who knows!

Yes, that's the fella.

We also had Port Vale's U21's skipper on loan at that time, a centre back.

Another good player (his name also escapes me!).

Edit:

Mike Calveley made 38 appearances for the Boro, scoring 4 goals.

He is now 26 years old & still playing as a midfielder for Chorley.

He has made 188 appearances to date for Chorley, scoring 25 goals.
