Unbelievable!! favourites with no trip to Wembley then. Never saw that coming ruined my Saturday night. It is all good and well getting up for the big teams on a nice pitch but when it comes to teams lower down on a not so good grass pitch we seem to struggle. Over to you Mr Action and Mr Dodd.

Too right! the tactics were shite, 3 at the back again (lt didn't work last week), Jardine again isolated marked out of the game, Carsley ineffective for last few weeks. Recci and McGrath awful just big boot and no tracking back.
Oadby BTW worst tin pot club I've ever been to in my life.

How can you say 3 at the back didn’t work last week?
It was the best performance in ages and against a very good side???
I have my views on today, but can’t be bothered to type them all.

It’s important to remember that there are two teams and standards are higher in this League. Losing to Oadby is disappointing but it’s not unusual for Town/Boro to lose to lesser teams. I can remember Highgate beating us at home 4-1 in a cup quarter or semi- final. I can also remember Redditch thrashing the team which drew with Middlesbrough at Boro.

Worst one for me was Oldbury beating us 2-1 in the FA Cup, the Boro team was Graham Carrs Gola League team.

Good luck to Oadby, they deserved the win.
Not really bothered about the FA Vase to be honest.
Boro haven't been a good cup team for many years.
Not really had a good run in the FA Cup since Middlesbrough in 2006 and an awful record in the FA Trophy aswell so we should all be used to it by now lol. 😂

As a (fallen supporter) I am disappointed by the Vase exit.
I would quite happy be accused of a glory supporter :)
Given IF Boro get promoted then it will be the FA Trophy next season, with Boro' being at the lowest level of clubs in that competition.

Yes I agree it really was a missed opportunity to gain some momentum & pick up extra support, not to mention the extra merch sales !!
Nuneaton going to Wembley in our 2nd year would have been amazing.
But just like the always done in my lifetime we screw up against some lesser team with a bit more fight.😩

We created great chances yesterday, more than enough to win easily, but didnt convert.
Yesterday Harrison was too wide, we need the two up top to operate as a pair.
Unfortunately we don’t have the right type of player in the squad…we let him go !

Looked liked a strong line up.
Wembley out for this year then?

Think we have had problems for a while. Always likely to concede a goal and not taking chances. Missing players who would come in and score a goal - Baker and Spruce? Shame Edwards and Marsden feature so rarely.

This was always going to become a problem . We stick to a budget , not saying we shouldn't , but even at this level clubs can afford to pay more than our budget for their top players . We need to strengthen in a few areas if we are to push on but that would mean breaking the budget . If we were to get promoted that would become an even bigger issue .

Is that really true ("clubs can afford to pay more than our budget for their top players") at this level?
I do expect directors of other clubs put their hands in their pockets to some extent.
the only extra expense the club have is the rent for using the Oval**
When you look at attendances, with the exception of Atherstone, Boro have twice as many attending than any other club.
Boro get 276 more than March (3rd best supported), thats £1380/game more than March....and thats using £5 as turnstile price.
It also ignores other income (and whatever the agreement for bar takings is)
** I acknowledge that the club have sensibly underestimated income and any surplus from this guesstimate is put in a separate fund.

fwiw i think its imperative to keep your feet on the ground
as in results.
which will be up and down
thats the nature of the beast.
all good runs AND bad ones come to an end.
for every winner there has to be a loser.
thats why football managers must surely have the highest casualty list in any occupation going
money never guarantees success
ok we all know its a good deposit as one well known manager once said
BUT no matter how well or BAD a club is run RESULTS dictate

Id say so. For example, Aylestone Park and Coventry Utd. Don't know enough about March

Hope is not a plan.

I'd also says it's a bit of a falsehood that we must have more money than other clubs as our attendances are higher . We rely almost entirely on match day takings . For most clubs at our level the upto 100 they get through the gates is just a bonus but most income comes from other sources .

No longer top of the league. March Town winning 2-0. 2 points clear and a better goal difference. Always se3m to struggle against the poorer teams in our league.

Its grass
Views: 822
Simply put, we cant play on it.....
Started the game well, pressed well , tried to pass it but the pitch again was the leveller.
After Kyle missed the pen we had another two or three chances all came to nothing, they then had what was probably there only shot on goal in the first half and scored. We then quickly levelled and we went into the break all square.
Second half you just think we'd kick on .... well we did kick it but that was about all .... huffing and puffing we went until they had another two shots at goal ( and yes ) they scored both...... time waisting was the order of the day from then on....
Didn't see the last 5 minutes .... home time feeling let down and disappointed...... ohhh well, league it is then.
