Whilst looking up details of old Boro players yesterday I discovered the fact that Bunny Larkin passed last summer.

One of my favourite players 1968-9. A team that failed to deliver and cost a lot.

Yes, he was one of the better players in a very mediocre team. I remember him for his fierce shots.

Strangely enough the team started off like world beaters until Kidderminster knocked them out of the FA Cup in November

It was a strange time. I think they wanted to build on the success of the cup run a couple of seasons before but a few of the better players had gone and they were trying to get experiened players in as replacements. With the exception of Dave Lewis I don' t think we had any youth players coming through. That is why ,I believe, a lot of money was spent on players that either did not fit the managers system or were at the end of their careers and were looking for easy money.

My immediate reaction was Bunny Who? I genuinely can’t remember him. I checked the team photo for 68-69 on Town to Town. While I recognised most of the squad without looking at the names, I have a complete blank about Larkin. I was only 13 years old, but saw most home games that season.
