Which one will partner Jardine next season ?
I know Collins has already been approached this season but turned us down ( I think over money )

Heard at the club meeting no names were mentioned but he approached Nuneaton and was told what the club will pay and said no thank you and then Atherstone gave him a rise to £300 week

This will be the case as we move into higher leagues. I hope that those running the club stick to set budgets and not be tempted by past follies ,because we all know where that ends.

I can assure you we will operate and maintain a prudent set budget .
The club effectively runs on funds to hand with no debt ,or benefactors …..lowering budgets mid season can decimate your squad as seen at Corby , alternatively raising a budget would eat into back to Nuneaton funding . Moving a budget mid season is counterproductive either way

The budget is based on our lowest crowd of the season, it’s not a finger in the air stuff . Which this seasons budget was based upon and helped us achieve promotion and a surplus to fund back to Nuneaton .
Good fiscal management is the club’s strongest point , if it loses money we don’t do it !

This is my point. Good management, budget responsibility, and a good team spirit ,will, and has worked for us.The lessons of the past seem to have been learned . Mananging expectation ,ie players demands, and also fans expectations as we climb the leagues is also paramount as it gets harder the higher you go.

Yes, there will be a higher wage bill but this should only reflect the income. Attendances may not improve as we may not be as successful in a higher league.

It is a bigger jump from step 5 to step 4 than between 6 & 5. Farnham Town went from Combined Counties Premier South (Step 5) to Southern League Premier South (step 3’ in consecutive seasons. This season they are in a playoff position for promotion to National League South (Step 2) for next season. That would be 3 promotions on the bounce.

Actually if clubs don’t offer the higher wages players will have nowhere to go to.

We don’t want to be going down that road again. Best to play in a league you can afford rather than a higher league you can’t afford. That philosophy killed the previous clubs more than once.

Yep heard that also, if honest i wont be surprised if that said player ends up joining us anyway in the summer, if his team fail to get promoted. Same with Jardine he wanted to see out the season with Heather St Johns before deciding to leave so he could make that step up.

Scoring at step 4 will be harder than step 5.
