Nerves setting in now.

I know they are all massive games.

So I'm not going to say it's a massive game.

Damn.

A long trip on a dark night along the awful A14. But if we set off with the right attitude and get off the coach in the right frame of mind we could make Saturday an occasion instead of an ordeal.

Show no mercy, lads.

Thanks for that. Yet another useful correction.

Must have extended it to three lanes ,raised the speed limit and removed all the speed cameras.

Yep, I've used it a lot, too. Huntingdon, Cambridge,(City AND United), Kettering, Corby, Stevenage,

And in the good old days, Raunds, Rothwell, Rushden (both). And many more A14 El Classicos.

Even towed caravans along it. That's a proper laugh!

I used to use it 5 days a week when working in Cambridge. I found leaving home at 6am I could do the journey in an hour. Leave at 7am, it took 3 hours.

Everything depends on the day and time with the A14!

Early and late not so bad.

Forgot to add Stansted and Bury St Edmunds to my previous post.

It is a lot better than the old route through Lutterworth, and Market Harborough.

The old road through Corby is the A43. I still use that one sometimes - it's much better since the lorries and football coaches started using the A14!

Meant to say, I stopped off at Stamford for a pint and some grub on my way to Huntingdon on Friday.

What a lovely place it is!

Could be playing them next season, although it now looks less likely than it did a couple of months ago. They have been on a decent run.

You have to be of a certain age to remember what it was like pre M6 link or the A14 as it is today. How many recall the gated road where the Magna park estate sits today. Magna park was then an airfield and the road cut across the runway/ tax̌iway of the airfield. In those days you used the A5 or the wolvey road to get to Lutterworth. You also went up the A5 to Cannock to access the M6 .

My dad worked on that airfield. On Vulcans. Biiteswell.

There was a level crossing near Willey, where the Rugby to Leicester railway line crossed the road.

That's right, I could not recall the name of the airfield; an age thing. Things were very differnt in those days when getting around for work, holidays or Boro away games. There was not anything like the motorway network that we have today.

When a beloved family member was terminally ill in Peterborough hospital we travelled that journey daily to visit. The Used the A43 as a change of route from the A47. Used the other routes too. It was a cold winter.

A difficult time.

The title is ours to lose. We have four games to acquire the two points necessary to get over the line. Atherstone still have to go to Histon as well as the oval so they have it as difficult as we do. I believe we will be champions come saturday evening.
