Final word
Views: 639
I am not pointing the finger at anyone. I am not condemning anyone. But I still do not think that the on field performances Saturday or yesterday were good enough. That is not melt down. It is just what I think. I have seen both our opponents previously this season and I have watched the |Boro 20+ times home and away. That is what I base my judgement on.
I know Mark, John Hobson, both Lees and most of the Boro staff. I respect their work greatly. I work as an unpaid volunteer for a Nuneaton Charity which is over 45 years old and based nowadays in Bedworth. We have no income streams and no merchandise. We rely entirely on donations and collecting tins to keep our heads above water. So chaps, yes, I DO fully understand how tough it is to keep going when the chips are down.
Unless we make the playoffs my season is now over. I wish the club and its supporters well on Saturday.

My poor wife.
Some quotes:
'For gods sake you're 67 years old'
'You're upsetting the cat'
'Its only Northampton not much further that you drive to watch now, you'll be back in half an hour'
'You'll regret not going'
'You said you've got home advantage in the playoffs anyway'
Note to self, 'be careful what you wish for'

You can't blame her!
Anyway she does archery on Sat afternoons, she could easily take me out from a hundred paces.

You could always go and take her with you. She would become more understanding then , perhaps. On second thoughts ,she may take her bow and put you out of your misery.......

You need to do her a favour and go to the game. You know it makes sense.

He looked lost for words, weird situation to be top of the league, a point from the league title but currently under the worst form of results since he took over. He probably desperate to end this season, team are tired and need long rest. Also Doddys and Acton need a good time to assess the team going forward. A lot of players i can imagine have come to the end of the road with the club.

"Team are tired and need a rest"....You could say that for the other nineteen teams in the league so it is not really an excuse. He is most likely shellshocked at the way things have turned around. I stated on a previous post ,a few weeks ago, that we should not get complacent and was met by a retort of the fact we were twenty points clear. Well ,as we are down to the last game, and still need at least a point, I think my comment was justified!

This was only because of the March game being abandoned and having to be replayed.

Yeah but the point remains:
Tues - away at 4th in the league
Sat - home against 2nd
Mon - away to 3rd
No getting away from the last two results being disappointing but it has been a tough run of games recently.

Hope is not a plan.

Of couse it has. However, we have ended up one point better off because of the replayed game ! Because of this we could win the league with one more point rather than having to win.

If we draw we get 86 points Atherstone can get 86 points. Remember Maidstone v Telford which cost us the Conference title
