I have a cunning plan

On Saturday afternoon I plan to go on a long walk on the Cornish coast path. Phone switched off in bottom of rucksack. When I get home it’ll all be ok. Do you think that will work? (Co-incidentally, I now live near St Austell, which is where I was on holiday when I picked up a Sunday paper all those years ago and read about the Farnborough debacle, but I’ll try to remove that negative memory from my thoughts)

A lovely place to be Stuff. Our generation have been there and seen this all before. Whatever we as fans do, we cannot infuence what happens on the pitch, as much as we thought we could when traveling all over during the seventies.

An interesting thought. I was on the Cornish Coastal footpath when England won the World Cup. First Half anyway. Second half I blagged my way into a Hotel in Polperro and watched it on telly .
Interesting recollection about Farnborough. Not the only one to make the link on Monday, either. :-)

Players 'sulk' and death slide after great FA cup run in 90's.
Note to self, 'be careful what you wish for'
