Your selection is pretty much in line with one I would choose. The Geoff Coleman era was, in my opinion, the most enjoyable football I witnessed as a Boro' fan.

As a concept a good idea. However, i think it should be done in eras, ie 60s,70s,80s etc. Fans will need to be in there 70s to have seen the likes of Baxter, vincent, Fleet etc. The older fans, like myself, would then be able to put forward several teams. If you look at some of teams already put forward it gives you an idea of the posters age. One thing it does show is how many realy good players we have had at the club.

I made my comment after looking at your team selection. You may not be in your seventies but to include the players you mention plus the likes of Les Green, tony Richards and Pigeon, certainly classifies you as an older supporter.

To add, I excluded any loan players.
Lee Burge was a better keeper than McKenzie or Alcock, Paul Barnes was the best finisher I've seen, and Aaron Phillips was a better right back than Thackeray.

as ever its all about ones own conception opinions era's, so so many candidates
whose to say in truth.
Baxter was (imo) the best one as a top flight footballing CH, at Ipswich
cultured yet small in stature
Trev Morley went on to star in the top flight you can make a case for so many
i firmley believe G Carr was our best manager head and shoulders above
anyone i can think of, yes he had backing but spent well
unlike some of our more recent incumbents who leave a lot to be desired.
one or two imo should hang their head in shame.
ie. how to really fuck up a once great little club..... but thats another story for another day

If you type any Club's fixture into Google, then FWP lists all of the teams results over many years.
They list Sky Blues v Palace results back to the early 1900's.
Edit:
The first recorded result was on the 1st January 1908.

Slightly different twist on it. I'm sure some improvements could be suggested (my memory fails me), especially on the 'Befores XI' (I've had to cheat with Les Green and Bill Baxter, as I don't recall seeing them play). I wonder who would win this match.
Football League 'Afters XI'
Kelle Roos, Kirk Stephens, Trevor Peake, Malcolm Shotton, Tim Smithers, Paul Sugrue, Darren Bullock, Peter Shearer, Trevor Morley, Malcolm Christie
Football League 'Befores XI'
Les Green, Bobby McDonald, Lee Howey, Bill Baxter, Jimmy Holmes, Dave Bennett, Jon Sammels, Richard Hill, Tommy Robson, Ian Muir, Paul Culpin
(Kirk, Cully, Timmy Smithers and Richard Hill could be picked for both teams)

TBF you can make a case for dozens of players some probably not mentioned on here
example, has anyone mentioned Darren Bullock ?? take George Catlaugh ( early 1950s )
left and played all his pro career for Watford
we had a coloured lad for a short spell recently ( fb )
certain he appeared for Luton in the premiership. !!!! yup. mainly as a sub
noticed him on the TV the other week forget who hes now playing for...
back down the divisions i believe... so so many, the list is endless
at the end of the day its all down to ones own perception/ judgement.

He was on loan from Derby the year Boro folded. Went to Scotland, then turned out for Gateshead. Now playing at Plymouth Argyle. Scored a lot of goals and was the one bright spark in what turned out a dreadful season.

hi Greg ref Malc Barrass yes i remember him.
i might be wrong here its all a bit clouded
believe he was an England wartime international so matches must have taken place
1958 at Boro with Ken Grieves, goalkeeper who played cricket summer months for Lancs..
think he was in the team that played at Burton when they opened their new ground 3-0 Boro ?? memory
was it called Eton pk* ?? very basic... look where they are now
bit of trivia i worked with our LB who played that day. ( hope that was the match )
also MB is the big ch that Stanley Mathews famously gave the runaround too on film,
turned him inside out it was called the Mathews final
* previously only went the old ground once think they played rugger on it too.
sat on open wooden seating.... long time ago now. it was more in the town.

It was by the Railway.

actually your incorrect bud
it had a 200 seater, plus a few, main stand
both ends were open humps of black ash
there was cover on the opposite side to th seater
the first floodlights were in all truth very poor.
you entered through the new housing estate to the car park.
opened in 1958 as expressed elsewhere my work colleague played LB. in a 3-0 win ??? memory
ive always believed the fact we were the first visitors. ????
if im wrong no worries its only trivia anyway.
ps to elaborate my workmate played in the city youth team with George Curtis
they progressed to the football combination GC went on and upwards, my friend was released.

Eton Park was opened on 8th September 1958.
Burton Albion's first match at Eton Park was an FA Cup tie against Nuneaton Borough.
The Boro won 3-0
The Brewers played at Eton Park for 47 years, before it was closed & demolished in 2005.
They moved to the Pirelli Stadium in 2005.
At that time they were in the Conference.
