Thoughts on step 4 football ( for next season)
Attended the rugby derby last weekend rugby borough vs rugby town to have a look what the next level is like rugby borough won comfortably in the end 4-0 but it’s physically challenging quicker and mentally demanding can we cope next season I can’t see why we can’t ruffle a few feathers with a new look squad (?) I think we will be ok 👍UTT

They will be tweeking the squad at the meeting at the crew both of them Acco and Doddsy said they have interest from 3 players at step 3 and have interest from a couple more players ,so they will be tweeking the squad but they didnt mention getting rid of any players.

Just my opinion but players will have to go for others to come in.
It might be players will have offers from other clubs,it might be players wont like what there being offered next year, or it might be we will release , but you cant progress by standing still.
I dont think there will be a team in the country that wont make changes....

Maybe so at or current level but moving up I should think it is less common. Players will not hang around if they can get game time elsewhere and in doing so get paid.

IMO there are quite a few players that will be leaving after two seasons.
We have a few that are probably too old to keep moving up.
Desperately need another striker and central defence.
Kyle worries me a bit too, he is a great finisher, but needs to get fitter.

I'm pretty sure that our managers have a few players in mind. What we have to be aware of ,however, is that some will not want to play for us or will ask for wages that we cannot meet. Our recruitment these last two seasons has served us well. I have every confidence that whoever they manage to bring in will be adequate replacements for any departures.

That is going to happen eventually anyway as the constraints of sticking to a budget will mean we will lose out to other clubs that don't.

We will strengthen, but within budget. Unless you would like the club to throw money at chasing success. We all know where that leads!

No I don’t want the club to do that but it has to be good enough additions to keep us in the league next season

Unfortunately good step 4 players will cost money. The way forward would be good young players either from above Step 4 who can’t get a game, or excellent young players from step 5. Good young players don’t cost as much as seasoned pros. We are not looking to win the league, surely a mid table finish would be a successful season. Without a ground we are limited how high we can get.

Yes I know but; " I am hoping Atherstone stay down so we can get their striker" , sounds like it's a forgone conclusion that he will come to to us. That is not the case.

By your reasoning Cov staying down would possibly make two two strikers available, both of which were amongst the top scorers in the league. There are always options, depening on availability, and what can be done when it comes down to budget. I would also point out that someone scoring goals for one club does not mean those returns are transferable. I do'nt know how long you have supported the Boro' , but in the past we have brought in the likes of Barry Franklin, Joey Owen, and Roy Clayton, all of whom scored loads of goals for their previous clubs but never shone in our colours. It is always a risk, but like you say, "One can hope".
