Robert ( Bob ) Deeming

My Dad passed away yesterday after a short illness aged 86 he's spent around 70 of those following the Boro / Town round the country . Unlike many other fans there was no Liverpool , Man U , Villa or Cov + Boro for him it was this club and no other , he loved the club . Some of you will know him by name most would probably know him by sight .
His first game was the QPR cup game in the fifties . With no floodlights midweek games were played in the afternoons back then , his school ( Arbury ) shut its doors to allow the kids to attend . He started attending regularly around two years later and only missed a game home or away if he absolutely had to for the next seven decades . Despite growing mobility problems he was still attending home & away till the end his last game being the Boston play off .
He passed the bug onto me and i will continue to support this club and no other as long as i can just like him , but it will be strange without him .

Very sad news. Is it possible to put his picture on the Boro Chat Facebook page? When my friend Keith passed awY the Boro very kindly arranged a round of applause. You might want to consider this at face start of next season. My condolences.

So sorry to hear this. I don't know whether I knew your dad, but I'm sure I would have recognised him as a Boro regular. My thoughts are with you.

I'm really sorry to hear that.

I'm sure I speak for the whole club and countless supporters who new him, in paying tribute to his dedication over the years, through countless ups and downs and to pass heartfelt condolences to all that new him.

I hope left us feeling that the club was on an "up".

Condolences.

The loss of any Boro' supporter, no matter how many other affiliations they may have, is always such a sad time.
