Off topic maybe, but I have just read their prices for season tickets next season in our division. .. £70 Adults and £40 Concessions. Kids also are an incredible £10. Just thought it was worth mentioning.

Little by little.

Sensible pricing for the level of football. Generally , because of player demands, fans are fleeced. I used to like to go to the odd top flight game when the Boro' had no game , or they were away , but the prices they charge now is ridiculous. I often wonder how some of the less successful clubs manage to get the crowds they do.

Bury's adult season ticket price for 2026/2027 is £225.

They have achieved 3 successive promotions & are now in the NPL Premier (Level 7/Step 3).

Cov Utd don't have to rely on match day takings the way we do . They have people involved who are funding the club . When we played them at the butts over Easter we outnumbered them . Despite an outstanding run in the second half of the season they regularly had below 200 crowds . Unless the people behind the scene want to keep dipping into their own pockets they need to build a fan base and this is obviously an effort to do that .

I was taken to task last season by Forum disciplinarians for (allegedly) knocking their attendances. I was doing no such thing, but there is no doubt that their home gates were very much lower than ours. They have to rely on far less regulars than us for any income , so it is perfectly understandable that they should target what they have and make their prices sensible.

I'm (still) not knocking them in any way. Their set up is impressive. Been to The Butts before , for Beer festivals and Rugby matches. Always enjoyable. Security briefly got a bit iffy about Mr. Clough, but other than the result, it was a decent day out.

On a second thought whilst on the subject of Cov United: our away game there was a sobering experience in every way. The result (and our performance) was a wake up call. I also think a couple of our players found our huge away support there a bit of an eye opener. I name no names.

Just my conjecture.

In the best part of 70 years watching the Boro , I’ve never been to a ground where I couldn’t stand to watch a game ,untill I was told I could , impresive, I don’t think so.

We should make all efforts to get back to a proper ground share at LW. Vale View is a shit site, with no redeeming features.
LW with a proper ground share arrangement a 4g pro pitch lik at the Butts and Tamuff will benefit everyone.
Yes I know the current owner of pitch is a total C**t that hates us.

Note to self, 'be careful what you wish for'

Gala Field is the site with the most potential.

Forget LW, that ship has sailed!

There will be a 3G pitch on Gala Field at some point in the future.

IMO, Town's Board will be better served if they turn their attention to negotiating with NBBC, Nuneaton Griff & Nuneaton Harriers about the development possibilities on that site.

As a back-up start to plan for Level 7/Step 3 football at the Oval by asking the FA for a current ground grading.

Just my thoughts!

VoR, just a quick question - how many times have you been told that Gala Field is a non-starter?

Clearly it's not enough because it's not penetrating.

Unfortunately that site has not been offered to us. If Griff are going to share the Gala field’s site with the Harriers, why not try for the Pingles. Plenty of land there and a ready made access with traffic lights to enter and exit the ground. Just a thought as I do not think Vale View will be feasible either geologically or financially.

You can lead a horse to water!

If you don't ask, you don't get!

The Town & the Griff groundshare at Gala Field.

The Pingles Stadium is used for the Junior sides from both clubs.

Both clubs can apply for Grants.

Nuneaton Harriers stay happily as they are at the Pingles Stadium, without bring tied into maintaining Gala Field.

Just my thoughts!

Edit:

Avenue Road is on the ringroad.

There is an existing 4-way signalised junction serving the Pingles & Gala Field.

There is a good bus service.

It's only a 15-minute walk from the town centre.

The Planning Consultant could put together a good Travel Plan for the site.

If additional car parking is needed it could be built on the former 9-hole pitch & putt course.

Gala Field is screaming out for a 3G pitch.

If Town were invited to discuss building a new, modern Stadium on that site, I am sure that would promote more interest in the local business community & other potential investors?

What? The pitch and putt course is no more? My dad once scored a hole in one there with a rebound off a tree. 😁

Most of the course is still there, including the Greens & the mounds around the Greens but it is just mowed as parkland now to keep it looking tidy.

It is spare land.

The part of the course that was opposite the old Swimming Baths/the new Leisure Centre is now occupied by new Tennis Courts/Netball Courts.

The Putting Green that was next to the kiosk disappeared a long time ago under a Car Park.

Good times back in those days!

Yes indeed. I seem to recall that around 1981ish the pitch and putt course was of such high standard that the England pitch and putt team played a match there.

Normally disagree with VoR but he has a point here.

Given the history and the location of our support I think Stockingford would be the best location for a new ground. However if some vested interest in Reform has spiked this then the onus is on them to provide an alternative site. It’s no good they just paying lip service to supporting Back to Nuneaton.

If they’ve ripped up months of work and agreement for their own reasons they owe the public an explanation.

Tomkinson Road and Paul’s Land won’t be viable in my opinion. The old clubs behaviour (or a few rotten apple Chairmen) and comments like Boro Pods above mean LW won’t be available for a long time I fear.

Who knows with Gala Fields although I believe the dimensions were never those claimed and Sport England wouldn’t back down on insisting two pitches remain there!

I hope there is public pressure on NBBC to stick to their word and Reform to explain what they’ve done!

Strike while the political iron is hot, I say!

A grass pitch on the main Stadium & a three-quarter size 3G pitch outside would be a very cost effective compromise, if two pitches on Gala Field were still deemed necessary.
