Another midfielder joins

STRETTON JOINS THE TOWN | Nuneaton Town Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of attacking midfielder and local lad Bradley Stretton ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Capable of playing out wide or in the number ten role, Bradley arrives with an impressive footballing pedigree, having progressed through the academy system at Coventry City before earning a two-year professional contract with the Sky Blues and gaining valuable senior experience across the non-league pyramid.
A highly-rated youngster during his time at Coventry, Bradley was named amongst the first-team squad and was an unused substitute at just 17 years of age, underlining the potential he showed within the professional game.
Since leaving the CBS Arena, Bradley has continued his development in senior football. Last season saw him feature at Step 3 with Quorn FC and Bromsgrove Sporting, while he has also previously played at Step 2 with Oxford City in the National League North.
Comfortable on the ball, athletic and creative in the final third, Bradley brings experience from higher levels of the non-league game and adds further quality and competition to Russ Dodd and Darren Acton’s squad as preparations continue for life at Step 4.
Speaking on the signing, the management team said:
“Bradley has been part of a professional academy environment, has experience at higher levels and still has plenty of room to develop. He’s hungry to prove himself and we believe he will be an excellent addition to the group both on and off the pitch.”
On joining Nuneaton Town, Bradley said:
“Buzzing to sign for Nuneaton. I can’t wait to see where the season takes us. The club is only going in the right direction, so I’m delighted to be joining and hopefully helping get us back to Step 3 where the club belongs. I’m looking forward to meeting the lads, getting started and playing in front of the supporters.”
Everyone at Nuneaton Town would like to welcome Bradley to the club and wish him every success in blue and white.
Welcome to Nuneaton Town, Bradley!

Looking into how we played last season 433 the likes of Hendrie and Stretton will be part of the front 3 rather than the midfield 3 with Murphy perhapa replacing Jardine.

Time of course will tell, but it does seem to me that the management is addressing the deficiencies that we have had over the past two seasons. Last season especially.
Little by little.

19 in the squad and counting .... obviously some will have to go ....
But still, seems very unbalanced at the minute

Why will some have to go?

Cos we only normally deal with a squad of @ 16 or 17 ....
Some will leave to find regular football.
Some will be let go ...
We have i think 19 in the squad now, we maybe need another striker ( 20 ) and I see a couple of trialists making an impression. Say 21/22 .... far to many for our budget.

I'm not 100% sure this is true, but I was told last season that (with one exception) players were only paid if the played. If that's the case, then the budget is not stretched by adding to the squad.

You need 16 every match day, you are always going to get injuries and suspensions throught a season so a squad of 20-21 is about right
