Read the article this morning. Seems possitive, but on reflection, we are no nearer finding a ground than before the meeting. Could well be a case of kicking the can down the road. We should bear in mind that there will radical changes to the council soon.

I wonder about Pauls Land. Would that fit the bill ? There has to be sport played there,so it could hardly be of any surprise to any residents that moved into their homes nearby that a football ground was to be built there. Just chewing the fat.

Paul's Land has a 250 year protection covenant on the land that prevents any development of the fields...this would include stands, buildings, new access roads, etc.
The current access through Mill Close is also completely unsuitable unfortunately.

I still say that the best site is the Avenue Road end of the Pingles. I know the council have not offered that site, but I am sure negotiations could be put in place to try and get it. It is flat land, no survey would be needed, also enough land for a good sized stadium with social facilities for the wider public. Also good access and car parking would be possible on that site. Seems no brainer, just got to convince the council.
