SQUAD NEWS | We would like to welcome Marley Sweenie-Rowe who joined the squad earlier this summer and is available for selection today.
Marley is a left-back & played for a number of clubs in Scotland last season and also featured for Hinckley AFC early in his career. He is on a dual registration with Coventry Sphinx to get game time.
Town fans will have seen Marley come on as a trialist against Rushall Olympic in pre-season. Welcome Marley!

It was a good assumption to make. Looking forward to seeing him play, won young player of the year at Hinckley last season and Atherstone the season before. PLayed a lot of Step 5 football at a young age and now wanting to make the step up a level. Good on him.

We signed two defenders from the league above in pre-season (Softley and Roberts), along with Osborn, Stretton and Elliott who played Step 4 last season.
You might need to get your cheque book out Pod, if you'd like any more ;)

he was always a target and we tried to sign him last season i believe
he hasn't been brought in for cover anyone leaving , the timing is coincidental as 7 days notice of approach went in before kai left

What did people expect? Clean sheets in every game so far… we are at step 4 whole different level of class!
Roberts and Softley haven't performed poor in any game I've watched to date. Roberts appears to be a proper leader something we have seriously lacked.
Imagine where we would be with Recci and McGrath at the back…

won four , lost two (against very good teams i might add)
two clean sheets...
early days but its been fantastic entertainment , even in our losses we have took it to our opponents and thats the nature of the league and i'm really enjoying it
beats two nil win away to oadby on a rainy freezing cold tuesday night ;-)

jardine from a step 6 side
Kai from a step 6 side
Dec from a step 6 side
Brandon from a step 6 side
all league winners at step 5 , signing players from higher doesn't guarantee success . case in point , liam daly down from step 3 to step 6 lasted about a month and half..
but the brutal reality of it is , its has to be within the budget and step 3 players expectations have to fit within that , not the other way round ......
been there got the t shirt !!

Is that it is (supposedly) about ideas and opinions being shared. (rather than being right or wrong).
FTR I think Roberts is ok. Good attitude.
I quite liked Recci and Andrews. I also quite liked Danico. (I'll get my coat).
I still miss Callum and I feel sorry for Jardine-but that's show business.
I think the progress made so far is fine. On and off the field.
I I like my new two-tone Hudson and I finally got the second season ticket on Tuesday.
I would like to hear more of the Fat Boy Slim anthem as the team walk out at Home Games.

Because I think he had a talent, and I hate to see talent flatlined or wasted. I'm fairly sure he'd laugh at loud at my disappointment.
I have coached many youngsters who would have loved to play at this or a lower non-league level. And many who would love to step out in the stripes and play for Boro. ( Me among them!) He had the chance to do so and blew it. I pity his lack of judgement.
